the lion season will be closed summer 2007 for months the proclamation has already been printed for this year. the regs you are reading are for the start of big game seasons this fall and running through summer 2007.

Rey it's not that you don't care for the style of hunting it is the fact that whoever hunts like that is a unskillled moron. You don't disagree with the hunting styles you degrade and belittle the people who do hunt from water and with hounds. Your last comment pretty much sums up your juvenile personality.

These are all quotes from you Rey on previous posts. They all sound like pot shots to me. "I don't think it's cool to wait by a water hole though. Anybody can do that." "It's kind of like chasing dogs around and shooting a cat or a bear out of a tree. All the hunter has to do is follow and I know that is hard - riding the horses and such - but there is no skill involved." "Where does the skill and fair chase come in by using this tactic? It is the same as waiting in a stand over food that is planted specifically for them. It is like shooting cattle. There are feeders that "ring" when they are dispersing the food - the bell rings and deer come to eat and somebody shoots them. Then some guy says, "Wow. What a hunt!"

there is no better way to help a youth harvest an animal than hunting from a blind near water and with hounds in a tree. once they get there first they are hooked for life. I am way to much of a spaz to hunt water myself:)

"All the hunter has to do is follow and I know that is hard - riding the horses and such - but there is no skill involved. " Reynaldo I refuse to agree to disagree. That statement is the absolute most asinine thing I have read on the internet in quite a while. "No skill involved" why them is fightin' words. I have 15 big game western big game animals with a bow and the hardest thing I have ever done is hound hunt by far. If you think it is just a matter of following a pack of dogs around until they tree you are sorely mistaken. As far as the ethics are concerned try training a pack of dogs and then come and tell me how unfair it is. Try tring a mule to do what you want without dying in the process and come and tell me how easy that was. Try riding a mule along some rim rock cliffs without urinating in your chonies and then come talk to me about how it takes no skill. I average a lion or a bear around every 8 times out. Even the best houndsmen in az probably at best average 1 for every 3 or 4 days out. Once the dogs are on the ground you are basically at their mercy as far as where you will end up on the end of a track. If you enjoy riding a mule or hiking from sun up to sun down this is the sport for you.

Why do you call mulies a carp
the breeze replied to mulie hunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Because Carp are alot easier to catch tham Bass. How many P&Y Coues deer have you taken with a bow and how many P&Y Carp? For ,e it stands at 2 each but I have taken 4 Carp total and 2 Coues. No comparison on the level of difficulty. Ihave never seen a buggered Coues deer stop and look back and take an arrow like a Carp. Have you? That being said I am off to hunt Carp right now so have a great day! -
I bought a Jan. C tag any one else?

Desert Diesel next time get some dirt and rub it into the bloody spot and then brush off the excess. This will take care of the problem by coagulating the blood and the dirt will blend in color wise with the deer. Congrats

I have narrowed my choices down to these 2 units and I am leaning towards A. Anybody else have a preference between the 2?

so what does he tape? I am guessing 116 gross

I have seen some deer hit in the vitals just vanish and I have seen deer that were thought to be dead jump out of a bush and make a mad dash for freedom. I lost a deer in mexico last year that was hit twice in the bread basket with a 25-06/ 115 ballistic silver tips at 300 yards. A friend of Knifeboys was with me and he is a M.D. He spotted the shot for me with binos. We gave the deer some time went over to get him and he was gone! My friend and I were in utter disbelief. We looked for 2 days for that deer and even had a dog looking with us. The Deer could not have gone more that 500 yards and we never found him. we looked for 18 man hours between 3 of us. We had bubbled up lung blood, and chunks of bone 2" in circumferance. The rancher let me shoot another deer on the ranch and he dropped with one shot at 325 yards. I had a friend shoot a buck with the same gun and ammo combo at 200 yards on the first hunt this year and he dropped on the spot. So after that and to answer your question I would keep the lead flying until he was down and dead. I would much rather have a dead recovered deer than a dead lost deer.

I want the bull that snapped him off...lol

The spot south of diablito is private property. it was part of the sopori ranch but was sold to first united realty. first united is owned by vince watts who loves to hunt coues deer but doesn't want anyone on the ranch hunting. first united also owns the solero among other ranches. they are slated to develop that area of the sopori into 40 acre parcels., the cowboy that is running cattle for first united will be scouring the ranch pretty heavy I hear from some friends in amado. the sopori also owned cerro pelon which is also now sold to first united and will be developed soon.

I called in 2 bears and a fox and 3wt does in the same set one time talk about a diaper change! I think it's like Nascar for the deer. They come in to watch and see who got in a wreck.

new mexico will charge your card the 6 dollar app fee which was hit when you sent in your app. you will get your voucher in the mail and then go to a lisc. dealer and buy your tag. this applies to deer only all others will be hit in full in the next day or so. so checking your card for a hit on deer is a waste of time probably tonight they will have the draw up on line.

NEED HELP ON A HUGE BUCK!!!!!!
the breeze replied to southpaw's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
tracking dogs are a nono in az. do what az guide said or wait a week and look for the crows. what kind/color blood were you getting? what brdhd were you using? try typing in lower case as all caps are considered to be shouting as far as the internet goes. good luck
