I took this buck on Friday. 12B West early was a tougher hunt than I had anticipated but my God did I see a lot of deer, just not what I wanted. I needed to cut the hunt short so I took him. Missed a much bigger buck on Halloween. It was an interesting hunt.

Woke up this morning prepared to see a coues tag in the draw but found out I'd pulled my first choice 12BW. I'm very excited as I've been waiting years to hunt up there! I'm not looking for secret spots and will be scouting very soon, but I was just wondering what the hunt is like and should I expect a monster, or should I be happy with a 160s buck? Thanks all!

My next question is; Can I justify honestly to my wife picking up a set of 15x56s for this hunt or are my 10x50s good enough?

Are you talking about the flats on the west side that are next to the buckskins?

So what unit did you end up deciding on? Sorry for the SUPER slow response. We have our first born on the way so we are getting ready! I decided on 32 because I wanna back pack into the Galiuro Wilderness area from the mule shoe ranch area. Its my third choice, as I put down two Kaibab Muley hunts first. Every thing says I'll draw. Excited for this season either way!

Best Rifle Season (nov 25 to dec 4) units?
reece_mess16 posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I'm planning my first coues rifle hunt next year and I'm trying to figure out which unit to apply for for the time frame in the subject line. Any advice on a good unit? I like to back pack in... Thanks!- 27 replies

I just became a resident. Family moved to Fort Mohave so my residency followed. I love AZ!!! I'm considering the 36s but still like 34B. Thoughts Packer?- 27 replies

I am military and don't like all the rules required to hunt on base. That said if its worth it I'd consider it. Is this due to immigration and other nefarious activity? I'm considering 32.- 27 replies

This is my first Javelina and this was perhaps one of the most fun/rewarding hunts of my life! I walked all over the unit to find this pig and her heard and it was completely worth it! Calling them gets weird when they are all around you but with patience the perfect shot will present itself! Anyway enjoy the pics!
