    Family camping tent??

You might look into a wall tent. 14x16 would work great for a family of 5 lots of space and it can be heated by a stove or heater in colder times of the year. I have a 16x20 which has been great for family trips and glamping with my fiancée. I bought mine from wall tent shop i did shop around a bit and found them to have the best price and most helpful staff that did a great job of answering my questions and picking the best tent for my needs. they also have a great layaway program that was easy to set up and make payments on, this was a great relief because some wall tent packages can seem very expensive but when you look at it in the long run a well maintained wall tent will last any where from 15 to 25 years in some cases even 30 years, where as a tent from tristate or Walmart will last maybe 5 years and cost any where from 3 to 5 hundred dollars depending on size.

    Pack animals??

It really depended on where you plan to pack into horses and mules can carry the most weight but there are some wilderness areas that do not allow them not many but worth considering, Goats and lamas have no such restrictions. I have not packed with lamas but have packed with both goats and horses. My goats are much easier to take hiking i bottle fed most of them from babies so they are very attached to me and i don't need any ties or leads to keep my string together. I'm not saying all goats will be this good like i said I've had most of mine since they were babies and you would have to find goats with the right disposition to do the same as me. another great thing about goats is you don't have to carry food for them i bring some treats for sticky situations but other then that they are browsers and love broad leaf bushes and plants which can be found pretty much everywhere. Yes they can only carry 1/3 their weight but with the right breeding program you can cross one of the larger dairy goat breeds such as a sonnan or Nubian with a boer meat goat to get a large heavily muscled goat weighing between 125 and 160 lbs witch adds up when you multiply that by 5

    Cabelas Anaknak vs Traditional Canvas

I have a Wilderness 16x20 from the wall tent shop and i love it. I bought it last year and have used if for a few winter camping trip and its been great. My yukon 5 stove keep the tent comfortably warm even for my girl friend who is perpetually cold. It fits my hole family comfortably and all our gear. This is my first wall tent and the guys at the wall tent shop was very helpful in helping me decided what would best fit my need. Over all I am very pleased with my tent and the service I received.
