And during Obama's tenure as president, How many public shootings did occur ? Please remind me.

Nope, no regrets. If I decide not to shoot for whatever reason, then so be it. My decision was made and I'll stick to it. Unless I score with a buck or doe tomorrow, there will be no venison in the freezer. I let a small doe walk on Monday. I cold have hit her with a rock, but she was not a deer I was looking for. No regrets on my part.

I did some test thru my Anschutz 1517 it was faster than they said. BUT they shot great six shots 100yrd cover with a quarter, lucky I guess. Had a friend shoot some thru is CZ it didn't like it. I only shot one jack with it, about 65yrds, I too don't think it open up, hump up like a lung shot deer, ran off, found a big blood circle. I'm taking them with me this next week on a PD choot, see what happens. I to won't buy them again.

i got mine last summer, so on the outside edge of your time window. accuracy, like my bolt action 17hmr, is ammo lot dependant. That said i've seen performance pretty much on par with my 93 otherwise. havent had any misfeed issues, my factory mag runs like a top. I even broke mine in with regular (non A17) ammo. no cycling issues or anything. i did however, immediately out of the box, put it on a Boyds thumbhole stock as the factory stock is the most awful thing i think i've ever held attached to a firearm. whoever designed that faux-pistol-grip palmswell thing needs to be slapped. twice. lol i dont shoot either of my 17's much these days, but i've wanted a semi 17hmr since about 50 rounds after i got my 93. i'd probably use it more if it had the barrel threaded so i could put my can on it, but i've got other projects before i tinker with that. it also likely doesnt help that as a reloader my plinking 223 load (55gr vmax blems) is only a few cents more per round to load than HMR ammo is and i can shoot that suppressed.

im amazed at the diiferent ways people hang and skin deer. iv tried several but the way i do it anymore is to hang from back legs on a single tree( redneck for gambrel). then just skin him down. how do you all do it?

Hey all, Hope i'm posting this on the right section.... I've been hunting for 13 years now, taken two deer over that time. This past weekend during our muzzleloader season, I was hunting a distant relative's property for the first time. One other gentleman was hunting there as well whom I actually bumped into on my way through the woods. Around 8:30am, I had a line of doe come through and I placed a shot on the largest one I saw. About 60 seconds later I heard a shot presumably from the other hunter. As I got up to track the doe, I came upon him standing with the deer down about 50 yards from where I had shot. My shot was a little far back, puncturing the diaphram and grazed the stomach from what I could tell. (Maybe a bit of lung? There was a pretty heavy bright blood trail) His shot was on the spine at the base of the neck. We were both unsure what to do next. After a friendly conversation, dressing the deer together, and some hem and hawing, I decided to offer up the deer for him to tag. Seems that this is a coin toss situation. Some people I talk to say first blood should take the harvest (within a reasonable distance), others say kill shot. I'm curious of your folks' input!

you need to have it in a truck to get it where you want it. won't be advice to put in a usual sedan because of the weight.
