What’s everyone hoping for...
bigbuckclub replied to Flatlander's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Late Kaibab for deer and hoping to get lucky (who isn't?) for sheep... I have 4 points I think. Most likely will be helping a buddy and my brother chase whitetail and see what (if any) leftovers are out there... maybe snag one of those. My mom and dad have a pretty good shot at the early Kaibab tag. I don't have to be behind the gun to have a kick a** time. Good luck to everyone. -
I used Lacorti's when I was up there in 2016. We had two of four deer at that point so they processed the deer while we hunted for the rest of our deer.

General Question on PVC Piping I Found
bigbuckclub replied to bigbuckclub's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thanks for the feedback fellas. -
I was out yesterday checking out an area I hadn't been in before and came across PVC piping exposed and sticking out of the ground standing straight up. Is this just an old out of commission well that was drilled or something different? It was located up a cut that funneled into a bigger wash. There wasn't any piping running from that point leading somewhere else that I could find. Piping was probably 1 1/2". There were two identical pipes sticking out of the ground about 5-7 yards apart. Is this significant at all as it relates to producing water? Apologies in advance for no pictures. Didn't have my phone with me at the time.

General Question on PVC Piping I Found
bigbuckclub replied to bigbuckclub's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
According to the HabiMap it's in the middle of US Forest Service land. I would guess it's just an old well. I guess my original question was if that is a good indication that water is near by or pools in that area, but I have no idea and google wasn't much help so I figured I'd ask here. -
Really cool looking deer. Nice job!

36A Muzzy Success
bigbuckclub replied to Brooktrout26's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
Was out there with my brother. Tough hunt with the hot weather. Filled one of our two tags at 2pm after bedding the buck down at 9am or so. Just a little forky. Didn't see as many mature bucks as we normally do down there. Congrats on a nice buck! -
The gap is pretty hairy and you definitely won't be able to pull a trailer very far. You could probably load up camp into your jeep and get back in there and camp in places as an alternative. Leave the Tahoe at the parking lot.

Nice buck! Well done.

New Guy looking for Insight

I noticed you mentioned archery coues as well. You can get archery coues tags OTC and hunt in Aug, Dec, and Jan while you wait to draw a muley tag down the line. -
That first one is an absolute brute. What a trophy. Thanks for sharing.

I understand a few folks were hit today.

My biggest is 109 5/8" gross 106 1/8" net. Has a 17" spread and a ton of mass. Took him 5 years ago when I was 21.

36A is a great unit if you hunt it hard. Have been in that unit many times and last year alone and my brother shot a 100" buck (1st picture attached), my cousin took a 90" buck, and my buddy and his friend shot a 103" and a 118" out of there respectively. My biggest buck ever was 5 years ago in 36A and the 2nd picture attached. Scored 109 5/8". Needless to say, it's been a good unit for us. With that said, there are a ton of people in there and some years has been really tough to find good deer. Good luck.
