Awesome story. Goes to show that just when you think your plan is going to make for a crap hunt, you push through it - adjust - and reap the benefits. Some of the best bucks I've been apart of have been a result of Plan A going to heck really quick and adjusting on the fly. That's a sweet velvet buck. Congrats.

It's very much a "you get what you pay for" type of industry. As mentioned above, anyone good should be slammed with work right now. I'm in Tucson, and booking Jan 2021 right now. Make sure they are licensed and insured. A lot of times, the quality of the bid process is a reflection of how the project is likely to go. If they have their process tight and get you bids when they say they will, I would trust that. Also, they should have a couple of past customers to provide for references. I know I have a few that would be happy to speak with prospective customers of mine.

That was great. Well done! -
Finally uploaded a quick clip of a couple bears my dad and I came across last year. Can't wait for this year to ramp up!

With early archery around the corner... figured I'd share the buck I had last year at 12 yards. He still bested me. It was only my 2nd sit ever with a bow - mistakes were made. Awesome encounter though!

Anyone have any recs? I'm looking to pick one up. Also, any advice for a novice from some of you seasoned vets is welcome.

Probably built by engineers with degrees from ASU. -
I would sweat so much in a ghillie it would be miserable. Hard pass. Blind all day.

Where are all the scouting pictures of velvet bulls????
bigbuckclub replied to huntlines's topic in Elk Hunting
Well where are your pics? -
As much as I would have liked a tag, I'm not driving all the way there... I'll grab by bow and be happy. All that said, doing this through the mail is stupid. It should open up online at a particular time, first come first serve.
-
Well I better step my game up. Haha Or - more likely - by the time I figure it out over the next couple years there won't be any leftovers to pick up anymore.
-
You can't make sh!t like this up.

Do they really throw away mailers for leftovers that get there before Monday 07/20? That's what it indicates on the leftover info. Did that many people really time up the mail to get there on Saturday/Monday perfectly? Maybe I'm just a dummy, but timing that up doesn't seem easy with our mailing system. But what the heck do I know.

LOL. Didn't even notice the dates...

I use Movavi. It's pretty cheap and very user friendly. Not a lot in the way of video and audio editing capabilities ala Adobe Premier, but I found Adobe Premier a little overwhelming so I went with something more simple.

There are G&F in from other regions helping with this from what I understand.

Thanksgiving? Not Nov. 1?

Sounds like all roads in the burn area are closed until Nov 1. Anyone have more details? Can't seem to find clear info... is it the entire burn scar closed until Nov. 1?

You did answer your own question... but I'd prefer that. It'd be even better if a buck killed in January didn't prevent you from drawing in the fall.
