Never hunted them, seen them but never closer that 1/4 mile. and they were big Back in 92 Wife 1st kid and I were going to Western Washington for my sisters wedding, we went through Kaibab, utah Idaho falls up the I-15 , about 1/2 hour before you start going up the big hill to montana, I happened to look to the west and notice what appeared to be a horse along the fence hopping around. was probably a few min before I realize it was caught in the fence or something. Turned around and pulled up. Oh crap thats a Moose I gotta get some pics. it was kinda calm and "on the other side of the fence" Wife stayed in the truck with the 2 year old. I got with in about 30 feet of it and while it was calm at the time noticed it had a ton of fence wire around it back leg to its haunchs. and it took out about 2 fences posts. went back to the truck and all I have was a pair of cheap pliers. Wife came out and looked with the kid while I saw trying to get it loose.. about 30 mins into that she was like lets just leave and call someone at the next gas station. I told her to go to the gas station just before the mountain pass and see if they new some rancher that could bring out so tools. What seems like all freaking morning she comes back with a State patrol guy then the show started. moose was pretty calm till we tried cutting it off its body. we didnt want to free it from the fence yet cause then it would be still wired up on his legs. thing started a huge butt rucuss then I hear this OH shoot wife and the 2 year old are almost to the truck running . Seems MOMMA was just over the burm and not really happy. MOMMA was like 3 foot taller than the Calf and alot bulkier just standing there 20-40 yards away barking squaking at us. We got the wire free and the calf hauls butt to MOM and off they walk over the burm. that calf was the size of a small horse Mom was the size of a Clydesdale the calf was probably the easiest to cut out of a fence of about a dozen or so I had to do over the years horses, deer elk and one stupid cow on crack. but it was the size and Mom standing there that was intimidating

Daughter did that when she was 15 bought a 97 jeep tj, needed some work she did everything and bought the tops(hard and soft) tires lift new fender ,grill everything). we did it got it running and she drove it . she did most of the work and had a good time doing so. then senior year motor blew. so I rebuilt that the tranny and transfer case took a while but it was OK cause she Joined the USMC and was in Boot camp SC. school fla and then to camp pendleton. Poor kid came back about a month ago for a few days and wanted to drive her jeep. Called me up Dad I think I got the deaf wobble but feels like the drivers side tire is loose. I pull up shes under the jeep working on it and checking it out and on the phone with some of her fellow helo mechanics at pendleton. I was pretty much in AW shes very mechanically inclined (Huey/cobra mechanic). She works on her own cars and guy friends of hers as well. working with your kids is alot of fun and it teaches them how things work later on in life.

you need to get ahold of Brady Bogen off 98KUPDs holmbergs morning show. he'd buy them if his wife didnt know about it. I guess he has quite a collection of old Rare un opened beer cans I hear about it on there show in the mornings Holmberg always gives him crap about it.. If you part them out I might be interested in that Olympia one and a Raineer one if you have them. I dont drink beer never have but from Washington and been to both there factories

I think you left out the Possum(head) and the Scottsdale mt lion (tabby front shoulders)

Usually if you open the back door of you truck you can lay down and shoot pretty comfortably. I wish someone would make a Bag that Straddles the drivers side window or maybe ever the door mirrors, hate marking up my rifles on shots

I had a 12a hunt one year think it was 1992-3, it started snowing a few days before the season, I was already on my way up. when I pulled up late that evening in blizzard conditions the cop was just locking the road closure gate. he wouldnt let me through and I even offered him money LOL. said screw it turned around went down the road 100-200 yards and picked up the 220 road (old east side game trail)right next to the freeway and locked gate cop was waving flashlight . drove up the hill and to my camp about 4-5 hour later. snow was pretty f'n deep maybe 1-2 feet on the top. you couldnt see and pushing snow. Dad and the 2 others that got tags were coming up thursday afternoon and friday. I had all day thursday to my self in the entire area snow was really deep, we normally camp in the forest on the middle main road then drive west to snake gultch(theres 3 main roads the big springs road, that middle one and the main highway that go towrds the park there old logging roads) anyway thursday couldnt even get close to big springs road. friday the snow started melting in the lower elevations, ran chains on all 4 wheels on the toyoya. no hunters friday and very few on sat. dad and friends and my wife and her friend came in through ferdonia. it was pretty cool having the whole entire unit to yourself, with just a few locals from ferdonia and utah. learned alot of about the deer movement that year more than I already knew cause I was never stuck in the pines before when it snowed LOL. when it snows hard that place is just beyond wicked cool. the amount of cat tracks you'll see is crazy stupid. and the amount deer tracks look like freeways.

I run harris bipods. the 9-13 fits most conditions unless your sitting on steeper hills than get the taller one keep that in mind, however it depends where you hunt. I have a bunch of them so i carry a few in the truck usually on different rifles. I dont like the Swivel models as there not as sturdy, the non swivel models will twist/ cant just fine and you will a more rigid bipod too if you twist if till you feel a little bit of pressure. I thought the swivel ones would be perfect for yotes, but they werent too loose on the swivel portion for steady shots

he said he showed it to a Warden he new, so probably when he got home of a day or 2 later. I have my doubts, I think its misinterpretation on how he thought it should go or was a tad pissed cause it ruined his kids hunt(which I can understand). but the only thing I can think of from this story is maybe the guy would get ticketed for driving off road unless he was on a 2 track of coarse. but I see nothing else
-
Congrats to the kids
-
I think you should post the vid, public shaming and you can get other unbiased opinions. if it went down like you said its better than calling Johnny law. I personally would not have called the G&F cause it was a kids hunt.

Congrats, btw good vid too
