I sent my kid this old picture and said Happy Birthday Marines. but then she txt me this about 20 mins ago. shes Stalking a Buffalo and wants to see how close she can get. she said under 100 yards now. Kids going to end up in ER. She also sent me this picture. its her Recruiter friend who shipped her off to boot last year, He is now in the Same Training unit on the same Helos our daughter is in He is flight crew she is a mechanic. They had no idea both were there one was getting off helo and she was walking to helo. Small world

yup. I was thinking about one because of the longer wheelbase in the 4 door, was always curious how it drives. I drive a 97 tj to work everyday less than 2 miles one way and still bad LOL

this was her set-up for outdoor and indoor at 16 and her collection of bows(one laying down is mine) she bought all of them, then got a few more a year later from a sponsor of hers. she quite shooting just before she went into the USMC, and is starting again this year. I got more of her bow crap laying around its ridiculous, She did take one of her target bows and her hunting bow back to Camp pendalton 3 months ago. Hope she keeps it going cause she was really good in it and was a blast to shoot with even though I sucked 3 months after she learned to shoot. Sure do miss going to those vegas shoots fun times. the target you can see how big of a hole those fatties leave, they were the biggest allow in regulation indoor. the skinny x10s were like .140 dia I forget the specs, I think tahts a x10 in the 1st pic

I used to be into the HO stuff. got out of it then had a neighbor move in next door got into it, I gave him all my stuff nothing special really couple of nice old locomotives (steam type). he did his garage and living room with it was pretty cool. then both of us being machinist we started making most of our own cars engines flatbeds wheel etc etc . to the point were we got obsessed with it. I ended up buying a 69RSSS for my wife he bought a chevelle big block for his and like over night all the train stuff was gone. Cars were it. we used to got to that place on Bethany home road and 27th ave and buy supplies. ken did make a awsum track in the house and garage, it lasted about 3 years. went from the old WWII wartime set-up to a rail yard and scenic scene

Have you shot groups with Broadheads yet? Reason I ask is my daughter shot some super thin hunting arrows , once she put the broad heads on they went to crap. with field tips at 50 yards she could wack the back of an arrow , with the broad head she was lucky to get 4" groups. she use's cut on contact grim reapers as do I , she went back to her older slightly bigger arrows and groups went back to the tight with the broadheads. Her target bow shes uses those micro target arrows x10's and she can robin hood them all day. I suck so I let her test everything for me.

Long range to me is anything over 700 yards. buddy and I were just talking about .338s a while back(when I posted ) and I was curious as you dont hear much about a .338 WM. lots of .300WMs and some old wildcats being the norm now. I dont shoot targets or steel just yotes and p dogs. the bullets out today I am thinking would open up alot of possibilities. Back in the 70s when all my dads buddies bought them, they hunted elk with them but shots were generally under 100 yards in western Washington few guy s bought them for black bear but others bought them for bears in Alaska. to be honest I dont think I ever saw a bolt action .338 winmag till I moved to AZ. buddy of mine from Randals (big Dave for those who remember him) I believe he had a old sako and a rem 700bdl in one I shot one of them a few times shooting p-dogs but that was back in the mid 80's.. most of dads buddies were buying the .338 semi auto brownings for brush guns to shoot through the brush in western Washington. Guess it was then in thing back in the 70's.

both of these work very good. done alot of cold weather camping in az mainly up on the north rim, we always put a tarp and cloth blankets under out sleeping bags and one inside. wool blankets over the top, I always sleep with sweats on and never my clothes or a shirt. cots are ok but air travels under them. A tent will help keep the warmth in. wont use a heater been there done that wasnt fun. did it it and old canvas outfitter tent a few times and real wood stove that was sweet just didnt want to go out and hunt after you wake uplol.

Dont rule out a bugle, they work in jan and late dec. our Oldest daughter and I were up in 6a one year hunting bobcats. we were sitting on a rocky ridge using a wood pecker tape or something like that. heard some bugling. she goes I know what that sound is ran back to the truck came back with the little Circee squealer call. Called that stupid bull into (hate to use this term) danger close 5 yards maybe. all I had was a shotgun with a 22 mag on the top. being a kid and not being affraid of anything. she continued to call and really pissed this thing off. figured it was time to head to the truck. Elk kept following she kept calling and laughing. it was pretty cool. we booked into a bunch of small pines . he sat there grunting and hitting the pines with his horns stomping his front paws. so now the trucks out there in the open with 100 yards between us and the truck. we got in the open the the elk kept coming and grunt/screaming. I picked up a big branch and thru it at him hitting it in the antlers he got even more pissed. I fire a shot in the air thing ran then came right back even more pissed. finally fired one more shot about 10 feet in front of him spraying him with dirt and crap. he walked off maybe 50 yards just grunting and stomping its paws. we kinda walked fast to the truck he was no more than 10 yards behind us the whole time. figured I was going to have to shoot that thing. Ive heard them bugling from the rut till jan, I know forsure they will come to a high pitch call anytime of the year as I have called in many deer and elk using it varmit hunting.
