Oh yeah I vaguley remember that. but it was in the 80s could have been in the 90's. If I recall I remember seeing going to the old Loopers performance store that was down town dont exactly remember were either one of them was(long time ago) wasnt there a waterbed/furniture store in that vicinity as well I think on the corner?.. Crap now I'm remembering some store, he had lever guns in there and some old ones. when we 1st moved here we spent lots of time around that area (mainly loopers) that old down town mall nickle pickle deli? and christown had alot of friends that lived in that area andWife loved shopping at the older stores.

That would have been right next door to Phoenix fishing Camelback and 24th street?. behind them was phoenix Wholesale, they shut down the gun shop and went wholesale only. I bought almost all my dealer guns/ ammo order some very high end shotguns and rifles from them as well for customers from phoenix wholesale. in the late 80's very early 90's until about 2001-2002. If I recall phoenix fishings son started the gun store then the Family started the wholesale place. Those people were also very cool

What was wrong with the site?

Another 100% perfect example that women like this should be in the kitchen or doing laundry. Shes a typing but says Absolutely nothing
  6. Jennifer was a pretty open minded and a very smart lady from the get go and listen to what fishermen were saying. I have lot of respect for her. I met and talked with her about a dozen times, mainly regarding the fisheries. she was one who knew when she was being bullshitted by over zealous bass fishermen.

Good ole days on ammo prices

yeah thats the place I was thinking of. I think they later turned it into that boat shop or that was on one of the ends of the stripmall. then there was that fishing shop at 67th grand and northern. they sold shotgun ammo during hunting season if I recall, then the mercantile place up on pinnacle peak road sold ammo and some guns as well in the early years. always hit that place up when we went fishing at pleasant for some dove and duck loads. when dove season and quail season started those mornings is where most hunters met on the west side. got breakfeast, stuff for lunch drives ice licenses and ammo.

Smitty's and yellow front were my Favorites. K-mart off of grand Ave always had good sales on ammo. Even the old 7 eleven that was on the east side of 67th ave and olive had smoking deals on shotgun 22 and some rifle and pistol ammo in the 80's. I still have (maybe 2 milkcrates full of box's of #2 #4 lead shot from the 60's and early 70's, some old red and white Remington 22 LR ammo. heck the last time I personally bought 22 ammo was from K-mart just after smittys closed. I still have at least 1 milk crate fill with it.

    300 win mag load

My ruger #1 loves 180 grain ballistic tips and h4350 just under max. had 2 rugers m77mkII serial number difference was 1. Mine loved the 180s and was a tack driver, dads would only shoot the 150 and was a tack driver with those. my 180 loads in Dads ruger shot 1.5 or something like that groups at best. pretty wild.

    Cold weather tent camping

Back in Japan and Washington during the winters we slept in the back of the Truck with blankets and sleeping bags. on year we were elk hunting up north of Bumper lake, south of chinook pass and it was freaking cold.since there was 4 of us the adults slept in the back of the truck, me and my buddy slept in a tent. Just the week before it was just dad and I and we slept in the back of the truck. and it was really cold "but thats part of hunting" Thats what we were told as kids. Anyway buddy and I got really cold, so we got up in the middle of the night, grabbed the chainsaws and cut a bunch of pine limbs and saplings(his idea) made kinda a shack around the tent. I bet it raised the temp 20-30 degrees. that morning we were just fine, Dad and his buddy were freezing. over the years we found putting a tarp all the way around the tent or around where your sleeping will keep the cold way down. I generally dont sleep in a tent even in the snow and cold. just a few tarps set up with 1-2 foot spacing in between each one and in the brush not in the open. Never slept in the back of a truck since during the cold. wind blows under it around it and over it, even if you have a mattress in there its going to be colder than outside. Other nice thing about tarps is if you layer them you get plenty of airflow (cause nothing is zipped up) and a heater would be much safer to use. if it was just the wife and I we just grab a motel room, much easier and way more comfortable, hot showers hot food., tried that with the kids but they wanted the OUTDOOR experiance.
