On my rifles my big thing is accuracy, I like them to shoot close to one hole groups . the 25-06 I just cannot seem to tame no matter what load/bullet just like the 7mm Remington mag. all my 22 cals 243 ,6mm 270 300winmag etc I have no issues with. I have a never fired 25-06 in a ruger varmit mkII stainless with a laminated stock that I bought when they 1st came out years ago. made up a few loads for it over the last 2 weeks and going to try it out here in the next few days. if I cant get it tamed down so to speak or even workable its going to be something else as well. this S&W 1500 25-06 I figured would be somewhat of a builder cause it doesnt shoot worth a crap and I think the head space is off anyhow, so it needs some work. I had saw that .338-06 it looked interesting as well. At 1st I was thinking of building a .308 just really didnt want to use a long action for that round. Always wanted a .257 weatherby have a 25 year old(hart ) barrel for it here in the safe/closet somewhere but its for a Remington 700 action its short chambered and threaded. a friend has a 6.5 creed he loves it, the 28 nosler looks sweet also. I think the last barrel job I did was on my 700 varmit bdl in 22-250 or my old 40xb in 300 winmag those were like over 20 years ago. miss both of those guns but I was never attached to them anyway. that 40xb was my primary hunting gun heavy as heck but never missed no mater what range,

I'm guessing its what I can find a barrel blank for. All the machine work I shouldn't have a problem with

was looking through some of my loading books and theres always the 240 weatherby mag as well, same bolt face dia as the 25-06 and length is close to same. 280 AI looks good, I have a set of po akley books here I'll have to go through. looks like the 28 nosler round is bigger on the bolt face by .090 dia. so i'd have to open that up which might be a problem room wise

Lance what barrel length for one of those? also twist.

well my hair is long enough for a bitch biscuit.

I never heard that one( Bitch Biscuit) before thats the funniest thing Ever, you win the internet today and you owe me a new keyboard

if people supported local stores from the beginning there would be nothing to complain about them now for. They dont carry much stock because for one most people want a deal to pay no taxs so they shop online. The you have the a-hole customers that for some reason think there owed something. I hate corporate owned stores they have screwed up shopping beyond belief. Back in the day between Randalls loan wolf and a bunch of others they always had everything anyone needed or wanted, if not they would order it for you. Same deal with fishing/tackle stores.

kinda sucks too cause he has a full pallet. he had to run to the left coast a week or so ago, he might be back before Christmas. I'll put another bug in his ear if I dont hear from him. -
matter of fact I think a simple "hey so and so watch your mouth" " cool it on the language" would have been better than editing something
-
This is the problem I have with editing peoples post. he didnt say anything bad. hes entitled to his opinion

I been called worse
-
yup in this case, its a dead lion. and he might have saved his own life in shooting it.
-
be pissed as you maybe, but its no difference between your clients posting pics or someone on the web posting pics there going to be used to the best ability of anyone against it. wether its a dead lion all pretty in a pose vs a cat that might have wanted IDGAF for dinner.
-
Actually I agree with a heck of alot of what NO bull says cause he calls a spade a spade, but this one I cant.
-
what about your clients and the rest of the guys posting pictures with dead lions. Fact is IDGAF lion was taken out of context by your post, if you quoted the whole dang post he was on there was nothing wrong with it. Like you the HSUS sissy's taken everything out of context. If you want to cower down thats fine with you as well as others who cower down , but some of you guys need to start standing up for your hunting no matter how it looks. BTW its F'n Killing not HAVESTING like some of you clowns call it.

saw this on another board

One of the kids I went to highschool in washington state with, his dad had a pet my lion . they had a bunch of differnt exotic animals on there property. I forget why me a another couple of friends went to his house, but we walked in the house he said dont worry about the cat he's harmless. go sit on the couch and a mt lion comes out of the hallway and jumps on the couch. we were all like WTF. story is his dad ran a trapline and he found the kitten. thing was pretty cool we werent scared of it just in awe it roamed there house.
-
so I gotta ask, whoever met him for the ammo did he have a man bun?
-
They were pretty cool vids watched them a long while back. the one where he takes the lion to obedience training is funnier than crap.
-
How much for the wreath on the door?
-
Yeah its pretty interesting but I was more interested in looking at there automation and machinery. that stuff always amazes me.
-
Naw not really I happened to see the title and being 1st post and your nick figured you werent shooting a 6.5x55 sweede so had to be the man bun round
-
Looks to be one of those Man bun shooters by the title

I'm kinda biased on shotguns, I was fortunate when I was growing up to be able to hang and shoot with some of the best trap and skeet shooters in the world especially in the far east asian conntries. Japan held some pretty highend shooting events back in the late 60's 70's with people from all over the world. not to mention some military members. heck everyone shot skeet and trap back then it was kinda the only thing to do. I started when I was 8 was shooting AAA against adults when I was 9, I shot and average of 4 days during the week then 2 competitions on sat and sunday mainly on the different bases around. Dad was a very good trapshooter I mainly stuck with skeet. I learned from some of the best the older guys in there 40-late 50's back then and still in the military, some japanese and other nationalities guys that would come on base as guests for shoots or the shoots we would goto off base. On a big shoot they would fly some well known shooters from the states to participate. those guys were amazing and really cool and loved to help. There seminars "meetings" consisted of a heck of alot of beer and instructions after the shoot and a occasional "Hey kid grab my "real" shotgun lets go out and I'll show you how to shoot skeet.." shooting a "real" shotgun was a reall treat for me. I used a 20 guage 1100 skeet gun I had won in a skeet tourny when I was 8. I was lucky enough to shoot some very high end trap and skeet guns in my younger years . one of those guys loaned me a older beat up 410 skeet gun for months and forbided me to shoot anything else for a few months. That helped aalot . we even had guys on base that could fit a shotgun to you. I wish I had some pictures of back then ( I am sure my mom does) Theres was only 2 of us kids that were hardcore shooters. it was me and a girl about 3 years older than I and she usually kicked my butt. after her dad retired and went back to the states we heard she shot for Remington from some letters she and her parents sent us at the club.
