your dog finds you elk?

I will be picking up my Chessie puppy here in a few weeks and I want to get into Arizona Waterfowl big time. I am originally from Wisconsin so as far as waterfowl hunting goes I was pretty spoiled. I have discovered that hunting and fishing are 100% more difficult in this State but that makes it much more rewarding. I am accepting all offers of assistance with training my new pup and obviously next year hunting some ducks and geese. I live in the PHX Central Valley but for hunting I am willing to travel statewide. Thanks.,

Just wanted to see if anyone would be willing to help a disabled veteran fairly new to western (Arizona) bowhunting have a successful hunt.
-
To answer the question. Yes I can walk. I am not limited to hunting out of a vehicle. My legs work well enough with knee braces. My disability stems from a broken back and spinal damage.

Appreciate the responses. Thank you gents!

Holy smokes man! Wish I had your luck! My 2017 started super shi**y. Congrats!

Last week I had a 5x5 with 25-30 does and a 3x3 with a group of 4 does. This week, bucks are nowhere to found and does are all grouped up and scattered. No more than 10 to a group. Only saw 1 spike with 1 antler. I think maybe the weather front that hit us over the xmas holiday threw off the rut a tad. opinions?

After separating from the Marine Corps my father gifted me a rifle he just called an old 30-06. After receiving it I realized it was a REMINGTON 1903 and from looking up the serial numbers on the receiver I know it was made in 1942. He bought it from a friend at work going through a nasty divorce for like $100.00 years ago and he never even shot the dang thing. First off the thing is sporterized and I put a nice Leupold scope on it. the thing is heavy as all heck but shoots very well. I do have a problem though and I am hoping someone can answer this. The bullets do not feed. I have tried everything. Different bullets. Cleaning it. Taking it apart. Moving the spring thing around, and nothing works except for turning the on/off switch on the bolt to the position where it allows the bolt to come out of the receiver and then carefully pushed back in. So basically the bolt doesn't come back far enough to grab the next shell, it sits right on top of it by a hair. How do I fix this?
-
After reading this I went and played around with the switch again. If there is supposed to be 3 positions the switch can go into I think I can only get it in 2. All the way up, middle, and when rotating down it seems to stop short!
-
It seems to rotate all the way down just fine. I'll have to take it into a gunsmith
-
I've tried playing the switch/lever a ton and the only way I get the shells to feed is if I have the switch in the bolt release position so I can bring it back that extra millimeter to get the shell to catch and then push it back up. Only problem is if I am in the moment and I try racking another shell I could potentially pull the bolt right out.
-
It shoots amazing right now, I just have to have the switch positioned so if I pull back too much the bolt comes completely out...

Who's going bear hunting?

I want to go. Anyone need a partner? -
My dad and grandfather gave me a good baseline and I took it from there. Grandfather taught me to shoot and the values of harvesting game. Pops taught me how to prepare, stay warm, field dress, track, and take care of the meat and fur. Everything else I learned through mistakes and being out in the wilderness. I taught myself how to Bowhunt......still have much to learn.
