I use a benchmade hidden canyon. Works amazing. I bought it while 3 years ago and finally used it this year on an elk and mule deer. Super sharp and great for skinning! I would recommend it to anyone. It is also small and light and feels very solid in your hand. comes with a sturdy sheath too!

I recently switched over from my etrex 20 to OnX. I'll be using both together while hunting.

After harvesting my first bull I decided I would eat the heart. After a lot of searching I couldn't find a recipe that really grabbed me so I decided to make up my own. I sliced the heart up into strips and nuggests, cutting off all the white parts and valves/arteries or whatever they were LOL. Got a pan going with coconut oil Dipped the pieces in egg Rolled them in a mixture of coconut flour and almond flour and fried on each side till golden brown (meat was pretty rare) Served and ate hot! FREAKIN' DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I couldn't believe how good the meat was and the crust I made was perfect for it.

A friend of mine from our time in the Marine Corps has invited me up to the Ogden area of Utah for an archery elk hunt. He said I can buy a non-res archery tag and hunt the extended season through December. I also confirmed this with Utah Wildlife and resources. The dilemma is our work schedules really don't mesh too well and it is a significant cost on my end. He works M-F and I work W-Sat with Sunday Monday and Tuesday off, but I can take an extra day or 2 off and he can take 1. Is it worth it for me to drive from Phoenix to Ogden and shell out the money for gas and tags/license in order to hunt 2 or maybe 3 days? Thoughts? Opinions?

Don't steal. Don't run. Don't do drugs. He would still be alive. As a veteran I know coming back to civilian life is tough, but there is no excuse for what this man did.

I am looking at buying one now before the 2018's come out. I keep going back and forth between the PW and the tradesman with the off=road package. I do tow a bit and the tradesman has a better tow rating. 19 ft boat and occasionally a 27' travel trailer so nothing that really warrants a diesel.

So I have a cousin that lives in Cortez, CO. Unit 73 I believe. She says there are elk everywhere near her since she does live in the San Juan Mountains I believe. I am thinking about doing a DIY OTC late rifle hunt there. Anyone have knowledge or experience with the area? I plan on making a few scouting trips this summer and in the fall.
