    Whacked My First Coues...

Congrats on the bucks guys. Your hard work really paid off. Congrats again. Josh White
  6. Here's mine and my buddy Daniel Barton's 2010 Coues deer. I glassed my buck up by myself at 1 pm on the second day of the hunt. I couldn't get a hold of Daniel and my brother Jeremy as they were about a mile away glassing another canyon. I decided to take the 600 yard shot. I dialed in my scope for the long shot but didn't compensate for the wind. I missed the first shot and the buck just stood there. I then adjusted for the wind and hit him right through both shoulders on the second shot. As I watched my buck lay on the ground I spotted another deer feeding just ten yards away from my deer. I could tell this was a great buck too. I immediately ran to go find Daniel and Jeremy. We got back to my glassing spot about an hour and 15 minutes after I had shot mine. Another 15 minutes of glassing and I glassed up Daniel's buck feeding about 30 yards from my deer. Daniel lied down with my 26-06 and whacked the deer through both shoulders at about 625 yards. We didn't realize what we had until we found them. We both couldn't be happier with these bucks. Mine scores right at 130 and Daniel's goes 98 both unofficial. Hope you enjoy as much as we did. Josh White P.S. Sorry for the double post in Forum Help.

    Latest Trail Cam Pics

Thanks for the replies. The bear looks skimpy because I have another pic of her with a cub the size of a bowling ball. Cant wait to get back and check it again. Woods and Basser, I will be in 8 and 5BN helping some friends for the archery elk hunt, but I'll try to swing by if we get the bulls killed. I have 10 days off for the archery deer hunt and another 10 for the archery elk hut so I'll try to swing by.

  9. I am a frequent visitor to this sight but I don't make to many posts. On November 14, 2007 I set out to a new spot in Unit 21. I had found a little spring and set up a trail cam. I returned 3 weeks later to find my camera missing. I was so pumped on what my camera might have on it that I almost cried when I realized it was gone. I can always replace the camera, it was only $100.00 with a $30.00 memory card. What I can't replace is the valuable scouting info gathered from that camera before we had those winter rains in December. I'm going to assume it was a disgruntled hunter who was upset I was in "HIS" area, or maybe someone just wanted to snag up an easy find. I have seen numerous cameras in my trips outdoors and I have always obeyed the unwritten code of respecting other hunter's property. What is this world coming to when hunters, who have this common bond, are stealing from each other. Thanks for letting me vent and if anyone has any info on this please let me know. Call me at (623) 910-3628.
