I got a youth single shot 20 ga for my stepson when he was 11 and with 7.5 shot bird loads that thing kicked harder then any of my 12 ga pumps. The 8 shot was surprisingly tamer. That being said the better the gun fits the shooter the less recoil they will feel. There's a difference between felt recoil and actual recoil. + 1 on the limbsaver recoil pads

I went with the samick sage from 3 rivers for my starter recurve and I'm very happy with it. I don't have any other experience with other bows so I can't say how it stands up against others just that I'm happy with the purchase. The guys at 3 rivers are very helpful answering questions. I'm hoping to chase javalinas with it in January. I've found the recurve to be very fun to shoot but of course range isn't even close to what you can get with a compound. Good luck.

I believe (according to the 2nd amendment) that as a law abiding citizen I should be able to purchase any firearm or munition I wish. As long as I can pay for it....im a law abiding citizen (and withh modern times no signs of mental illness)...what reason does anyone have to tell me I can't have an Abrahams parked in my driveway. But that's not how it is. You have to prove that you're innocent and jump through hoops to get this (im fat now, I don't jump) i thought it was supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

If she's comfortable shooting lefty and left eye dominate I'd run with that. I know, as previous posters have commented that people can learn to shoot righty or lefty or upside down and backwards. ) of it was me in your situation and I had the finances I'd get what comes most natural to her to shoot. That sounds like a predicament! Is she right handed? And left eye dominate? What I might try is borrowing a leftie rifle and let her try it to see if it's more comfortable for her to shoot and operate. If she's both left eye and left handed I would think that Jr lefty 7mm 08 might be a good way to go. Just my 2 cents
