New Rigs??? Archery season is coming!
dchamsr06 replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I just bought a new Reezen. I shoot Hunter Maxima 250 arrows. I have the Spot Hogg 7 deadly pins with the wrap. Trophy Taker Xtreme full containment drop away rest. The new tight spot quiver. I love my set-up. Dennis O yeah I forgot 6A west Bull Elk tag!!!!!!!!!!! -
I know if you watch the hunting shows many of them swear by the Rage. I seen several shows where they used them on Elk and the Elk went less that 100yds and died.

I'll be chasing a Bull in 6A West with my new Reezen.

Judging from what you are telling me your arrow is 30-40 gains lighter than mine. For every 6 gains lighter you gain 1fbs. Plus you don't mention your field tip I shoot 100grain. Both bows are quality products I'm just partial to Mathews.

I shot the Monster on Thursday. Arrow 28 1/2 3-49 ACC draw length 29 inches. Wow talk about a screamer. At 70lbs I did 315fps. At 65lbs 303fps. I also shot the Rezen 65lbs 299fps. 70lb with a different arrow an Easton Maxium 315fps. Now just have to wait until the production bows arrive to take one home.

I live in Peoria and have to travel some distance to go to a bow shop. I was wondering for those of us who live in the west valley where would you like to see a bow shop?

I'm just asking where you would like to see a bow shop on the west side.

I wouldn't think a feral hog would have that large of teeth. A russian boar would but watching hunting shows the feral hogs look like normal pigs.

What tricks have you learned from other in camp?
dchamsr06 replied to scoutm's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Heres a couple I do. I will either grill 2 whole chickens or buy them at Walmart. Split them and place them in a vacuum sealed bag freeze them. When I cook them in camp just put them in a pot of boiling water. Usually a half of chicken per hunter. I also will bread up cube steaks seal them a vaccum bag freeze them. I will then fry them up for chicken fried steaks. We also use tie down straps for game skinning. We put the hooks through the skin behind the tendon then tie them off. -

We have hunted every December for the last 10 years or so and have never had any problems with rifle hunters.

Our great nation being watched over by the Good Lord. I'm thankful to all of those troops past, present and future that have sacrificed so much so we can live in the land of the free. I am thanful for having wonderful family and friends that I love. And thanks to all of you just for being there. Dennis Chamberlain

Ok you just got in from your week-end camping trip. You realize you don't want to sleep on that hard ground any more. So here's the Ideal camper for you and your family light towing. Sleeps 6. 2burner stove and sink. Has a heater but don't know if it works. $700.00 obo. I also have a cast Iron 2 burner stove for $50.00.

Wow nice buck. I would count that as a 4x5 aren't the eye guards counted?

I'm not sure if it was on this site or another. I thought I read of a place in either Wisconsin or Michgan that offered 2 day semi-guided hunts for $500.00 per hunter. If any of you saw this please let me know where to find the information. Thanks Dennis

We have some friends that left their trailer up by Kinnikinick Lake for this weeks hunt. When they got to their camp there was a note on the door from the Sheriff stating their trailer had been broken into. Who ever broke in took everything that wasn't nailed down. They lost a generator,GPS and all of their hunting equipment that was in the trailer. A least he didn't leave any weapons that could have been taken. Apparently there were several other camps that had been hit. If you had a camp in that area and haven't gotten there yet it might be best to check it this week-end.

I am heading down to 34A middle of the month and was wondering if anyone has had any luck. For those of you who know the area can anyone tell me if road number 72A has been repaired? We were down there in Januray and part of it had been washed out and was unpassable. Just wondering otherwise will have to huff it like we did in January.

Last year for the first time I actually grunted 2 young bucks within bow range. Does anyone know if you can rattle in Coues bucks? Also do they respond to Doe attractant.

Hi All: This is my first post. Just to let you know that I have a group of friends and I that usually hunt Superbowl week-end. The rut is usually hot and heavy. I usually get a couple of shots a trip but still haven't taken a buck with my bow.
