I think it's the AX-15 and as for the gear ratio I think it's 3.73 but not positive on that, and it's the 4.0 I believe. I know it's a beast out in the wilderness!

The 270win is definitely a good choice for him. I would also look at the 6.5 creedmoore.

You might look at the Athlon ares BTR, they make both a 2.5-15x50 and a 4.5-27x50.
