  1. Too much coffee after dinner. I like this !
  2. Here's my 7 mag. Just lubed them up real well, and ran them through a 257 weatherby f/l die.
  3. I have a custom 338 RUM. There's plenty of barrel to punch it to edge. I do like that 6.5 WSM. What bullet, at what speed ?
  4. Anyone used a .50 with 750 gr A Max's? ?? Lol !!
  5. Oh, and another 257 weatherby is looking awful nice, in a stainless Remington CDL model.
  6. Currently I have a 257 weatherby that I'm loading 110gr accubonds for. Switched from 100gr tsx's. Was running them waaaay hot, the little I shot the Vanguard. Going to start over, and switching to 7mm RM resized/formed brass. What's really working for me right now, out to 900 yards, is a rebarreled 700, to 7mm RM with a stainless, fluted, ti barrel. 66.0 grains of rldr 22, under a 160gr accubond. Been tossing around the idea of building a 264 wm, or some 6.5 of some flavor. Not sure how light or heavy yet ? My friend who I'm going with, for my first coues hunt, runs around on a 4 wheeler, and says, ya don't have to carry stuff far from it. I'm fixing to come out of retirement, so my world is going to change to weekends and holidays off, and no vacation til next year. I was gearing up, but now throttled back, because I don't know if I'll get to use my 14 year wait tag !!
  7. Are there javelin a in unit 23 ?

New 7mm Rem Mag Load Development

Wow! That's alot of work, with sorting, measuring and such. Here is Remington 1x fired brass in a test barrel, FL resized, 66.0 gr's of rldr 22, and just changed seating depth with 160gr accubonds. 0.020 off on the left, 0.030 off on the right, 4 rounds. Not just a one time group. Was verifying clicks to 900 yards last week, and here's a 3 shot group at 100 yards.
  9. Any and all are welcome. If your like me, you have partial boxes on the shelves. Waiting for SPS, to get any in Stock isn't going too well. Let's make a deal.

    Wtb: 7mm, 160gr Nosler accubonds

Pm sent. If they are non can, white tipped, let's work something out.
  11. Of you guys that have taken shots and or, hit or missed, what's been the distance of these shots taken ? Trying to see where I need to be on cartridge choice.

    Reloading Equipment

I'll be interested in the Lyman scale. I'm using its twin right now.

    ISO Takeoff stocks

What do you want for the weatherby stock.
  14. I'm not finding much talk about anyone using one. Do they not work well, or not clear enough, or ?? Is it worth the price to turn bino's into a spotter ?

    Oryx and a 280AI

Before my hunts, I heard and read how tough Oryx were. Feeling really confident with a custom 280AI I had built, that was my cartridge and rifle of choice. No in the field pics except a few odd balls due to my phone just dying, but here's my oil bull. Not a monster, but 30 inch horns fit the wall nicely. My wife and I had a great trip, and she got to watch it all through bino's. A 693 yards shot, with a 140 gr Barnes ttsx. Right shoulder hit and exited just behind the left shoulder. The next year, I put in with a buddy for a broken horn hunt, and we drew. Took a 191 yard, off hand shot to drop this unicorn cow. . So far 2 cow elk, and 2 Oryx have fallen to 140 gr ttsx's at @ 3150 fps.
  17. First time hunting the unit, and not sure what I'm getting into. Google Earth is helping some. The guys I'm going with have hunted it twice, so I'm relying on their knowledge mostly. Was just asking to see how far is "normal", but you explained it well.

    Kenton speed dial

One of my Kenton turrets. It was made for my 338 RUM with a 200 yard zero, and lines up just about perfect with my 257 weatherby, and 100 gr tsx's.
  19. Box, paperwork, carry case, included. Rangefinder is in new condition, a little wear on the battery compartment screw head slot. I don't keep a battery in it, unless I'm using it. I'd like 400.00, shipped priority for it. Works great, just trying to go to a smaller unit.
  20. Been reading some threads here and thought I'd start my own with my contributions to several of them. Life is short. Go buy a started dog of your choosing. Tis better to beg forgiveness, that ask permission. I spent 4k from my own wife knows I have an acount, but don't know what's in it, on a year and a half started lab, without asking. After 4 years, she's kinda warmed up to him. When I told her I bought a dog, she didn't want another. When our little dogs are gone, we would be empty nesters. She says the lab is our last dog. I don't think so !! He's been the best money I've ever spent, and the joy of my life. Here's a short video of he and I hunting ducks out of a lay out blind. Action starts at @ 0:38. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/splattermatic/media/GOPR0014_1449360229669_high_zpsnwu9zh3n.mp4.html Another thread was about your trophy ducks. Mine are pintails. Nothing better looking than a bull sprig. I'll have to take some new pic, as the ones of the sprig are gone. Best I can do for now to show him. Did get a surprise, once in a lifetime bird last season. I shot a Eurasian widgeon drake. Beautiful bird, now at Birdman Studio.
  21. Thanks guys. I could post lots of pics of him. Here's a favorite or 2 !!
  22. Thank you. Shameless brag on AKC and UKC hunt test ribbons.
