Same here. Unit 8 has everything from aspen to sage. I grew up camping in the NF all over the NE part and had a lot of "firts" in those hills.

Still trying to figure out how people "harvest an elk!?" With a scythe measured in grains... -
State Treasurer is also on record as saying this is fiscally irresponsible. By not dumping a mandated portion of the interest back into the principle, the available interest accrual will diminish.

Yes it is. I told the kids the same info and split. Not sure what happened. They were trying power bait when I pointed out the GIANT sign that says "artificial lures and flies only".

Update: My buddy has since told me that he wants a meat hunt this year for his first elk hunt. He said he wouldn't pass up one of the big boys if he had the chance, but killing a big bull wasn't a priority. I almost feel bad for the psychological warfare I will be perpetrating over the coming months...

I will be spending quite a bit of time in the unit this year. Wife and I love to camp up there and I really just like following goats around. Will try to post pics as I gather them. Good luck to all that drew that tag. I'm jealous.

I put in for this hunt every year as I have seen some giants in unlikely places. If you have the tag I would love to know how it shakes out.

My planning committee has not crossed that bridge yet. I will throw in a sling and a neck brace for you.

All of the elk in unit 8 gather on Wagon Tire Flat in September for the annual pre rut meeting. I have designed and will build for you a mounted bow that shoots a 5 ft fletched projectile, you will need to provide your own flatbed. Keep in mind you will be needing a F-450 or something of similar size. Effective range should run about 400 yards+.

Pulled into JD dang yesterday to check the lake level and watch the osprey on lunch break. Saw some kids fishing and watched this kid pull this beast out.

Love these guys and their store. For any Flatline map lovers, these guys carry them too. Bought a pistol for the wife from their old location and my pops just used them for an FFL transfer for a 101 he purchased out of state. Always a pleasure to give them business.

Could always try the 180 gr Failsafes...Or am I the only one that has them? -
Thanks for the welcome. My first ever post was announcing my plan for today in yesterday's "Cyber Scouting" thread. I though I did something wrong when I logged back in and saw the message telling me I didn't have permission to view. Too dang funny.

Thank you. He drew a Coues tag in 24b a couple years ago and I scouted some really nice bucks up for him. I couldn't be there for the hunt and he wasn't able to seal the deal. This could be his first big game animal. I am going to work this Unit so hard for him I might be risking divorce.

They are trying to treat a symptom and not the disease. Or rather, slapping a bandaid on a sucking chest wound. By devaluation of the principle in the State Trust, they are robbing future generations. My house will be slapping a fat NO down on prop123.
