    Input on Eberlestock Slingshot

Oh yea . You can pack a bow or rifle on most of the Black Creek models, but they dont have the quick release.

    Input on Eberlestock Slingshot

Hello Southerncoues- I have used the slingshot. I have some good things to say and some bad. As far as packing your bow it works great, you have to spend time adjusting all the compression straps to get it just right, but it never FEELS just right, but you will get used to it.As far as releasing your bow from your back it works great as advertised. You release one quick snap at your right chest muscle and the bow comes out over your right shoulder effortlessly and quietly. Now for the bad. As I stated it never feels quite right because it has a padded neck that the bow is secured to and that pad gets to be a pain in the neck, like right in the back of your neck.It really shows itself when you try to crawl with the bow secure. You can't pick up your head because the bows limbs are in the way. The size and weight are great for a day packer , but that is about all you can pack, a days worth of water and food. I hunted with it a season and went with a Blacks Creek Canadian which I use to pack the animals out with. I used it all Elk season which was nice because there was no way I was goin to use it to pack out an elk but I could cover alot of ground because of the weight and had enough room for a day hunt. Enjoyed it alot on the elk hunt. If you pack enough for a day hunt and want to stay light on your feet I say good pack (not great) but if you hunt when it is hot you might need more room for water. I like mine in cool weather. Good luck.

    Personal best?

Nice back-pack Matys281. Looked like you stuffed the whole critter in there. I own the Canadian and have had great results, packed out a muley so far. Hoping a grey ghost this January. Which model are you using ? The Alaskan or is that the Canadadian ?

How old should my boy be?

Hey "kmwellslv" I think that her pink nail polish maybe gave you a clue that she wanted to go. It matches her gun perfect. Good times.

    First scouting trip

As far as getting the deer out- skin and quarter and into the back-pack. A big coues on the hoof is around 110-120 on the hoof. They really are a small animal. I know sounds heavy , but with a good back-pack it is not to bad. Being in shape helps and if you have to you could de-bone the meat. de-boned then you are talking around 40 to 70 lbs. Don't worry that is what adrenaline is for.

    Reloading Jackpot

It is funny cause I always go out and hit the big box stores looking for that one hard to find item here in Mesa like 75 grain 3 blade Muzzy's to no avail. Stop in at Bear Mountain close to my house and sure enough. Not only do they have the broadheads , but all the replacement parts for them to.I stopped in when they opened one morning to get a ultra-light fishing rig in a 2 piece ( last minute deal of course ) and all they had was one piece fishing rods. I ended up getting a one piece fishing rig( cuzz I was in a hurry) and the feller told me if I was not happy with the rig AFTER my trip to bring it back and he would give me my money back. I could go on. GREAT PEOPLE-GREAT SERVICE. Try that at a big box store. Good luck to you fellars at Bear Mountain. You will always get my business.

    Remington 600's, 660's and mohawks

Own two model 600's. The .243 and a .6mm. Love them. Would like to get the .222 for preadators.Anybody comes across a .223 for a smokin deal snag it, they the hardest to come by.

    which scope and why?

I went with the Leuopold MK 111 4.5x14x40 that Red Rabbit mentioned and mounted it om my 6mm.The factory B&C reticle is supposed to be set up for the .270, I cant remember what grain bullet or what not but I checked ballistics with a 100 grain 6mm and the things is lights out enough for me out to 500 yds. What would be nice is you should be able to use that same scope with your 6mm and your .270 with the factory settings.Just shooting Remington core-locks. Got real lucky and picked it up at the Cabelas bargain cave for around 500.00 and still got that made in America lifetime warranty. Love it.
