Thanks guys. Yea he's been waiting for I believe it was 12 years for a elk tag and finally got it done. Unit 1. He's shot a few Coues and mulies with his bow bit this was his first elk tag. Shot him with a Ramcat 100.

I'll try and keep an eye out and spread the word.

I think you guys are thinking wayyy to much into this... im saying standing broadside the leg facing you I try and wait till its forward. thus opening up the chest on the side facing you then I aim for the opposite leg.
-
If the animals broadside I try and wait till the front legs forward and aim for the back leg. I wont take a shot if its not broadside or 1/4 away.

Awesome picks thanks for sharing.

Could go both ways honestly in my opinion. Its not enough time for them to truly get usto it I wouldn't think. But ya never know. Hopefully tho since you have a wicked Rut tag you wont have to sit the water and can be chasing bulls sun up to sun down. Good luck on your hunt post some pictures.

What a giant congrats.

If you already have a blind and can brush it in I would use that method as well.

Always pack a extra jug of water, extra rope, small emergency kit, extra batteries, few pairs of rubber gloves, and my go too is snickers and BodyArmor Hydration drinks.

Whats your budget? I think that's the big thing. Also you wan a light weight tripod and sit and glass or something that you can stand and glass with? What kind of Tripod head do you like? I grew up using pan tilt heads and only recently switched to a fluid head. I've used a few and there really nice. I made the switch so I can Use it for filming but I like it for glassing a lot as well. Im currently running a manfrotto 290 with the 701 head but will be getting the xpro when we get home from vacation.

Im going to be getting the rest of my set up when we get back from vacation, I picked up a used Carbon Fiber Manfrotto 290 and am getting a used Xpro fluid head to go with it from a buddie whos gunna be upgrading his head. From what I hear the set up is amazing for the $$$ ill be in it around $220 I was going to get the Vanguard alta+ my dad has it and I liked it a lot. But for videoing and glassing the fluid heads the way to go.
