Just shooting from my personal memory, I can remember baiting deer being legal, the use of deer urine as an attractant, and once upon a time many states had laws that made high letoff bows illegal (colorado still stops it at 80%). Laws change and as technology becomes more normal, its easy to take some things away and allow others.

http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2013/05/15/184223110/new-rifle-on-sale Opps, my bad. They already have one for a couple years now. Dont worry guys, the price will come down once china starts making them.

Technology is constantly making the impossible seem easy. A couple more years and youll see digital scopes with all the ranging, environmental measuring calculating built in. You wont even have to touch the turret, youll just have to change the battery when it dies. Then 1000 yards will be a chip shot and people will be griping about the unethical aholes shooting at 2000.

Ive taken three deer out of that unit with my bow. Like others have stated, get off the road. I usually pack in for a couple nights at a time and never see anyone on my ridge. Its not a unit that has a ton of deer, but theres enough to have a real good chance at success. If you get a couple days in and are having difficulties, get in touch with me. Its a long drive, hate to see you go home empty handed.

What do you think about having a 3 point minimum for Mule Deer?
mattys281 replied to Gunit's topic in The Campfire
Best deer I ever ate from Arizona was a little mule deer forky from the white mountains shot at about 8500 ft. Since I'm not allowed to out anything else on the wall unless its bigger than the 4x4 thats already there, you give me the choice between a 3 point and a forky or spike, I'll be packing out the little guy. -
Thats a great buck. Its always sad to call it a year, but you can still hunt whatever you want as long as you want with your camera, or help someone else with their hunt. Congrats on a great season!

Like ole Clint said, "a man has got to know HIS limitations!" Its really know different than people buying 200mph cars or motorcycles. The equipment may be capable, but if you try it you're most likely heading for disaster.

I just hunted Colorados otc 2nd season elk hunt with a 4 pt restriction. Talk about the orange army! Ive never seen so many hunters in the field at one time. If az g&f did this it would only be to lower success rates so they could sell more tags and make more money at the expense of hunt quality. -
That sucks. They're pretty good at disappearing once the pressure turns on.
