I'm not sure where, but there will definitely be another out of state trip this year. Probably back to Nebraska for another dose of midwestern whitetails, and/or up to Colorado for OTC elk. Depends a lot on what Az's elk draw has in store for me.

Less beers more cardio. Just went on a couple night backpacking trip and it about killed me. I also haven't been shooting as regularly as I used to and it shows. I will fix both of those problems, expeditiously.

Thats a bunch of horse crap. Insurance companies are worse than politicians, they're such criminals. A gal I was dating about 10 or 12 years ago got rear ended at southern & college In tempe and the 17 y.o. girl that hit her panicked and failed to take her foot off the gas causing her to hit her again and again, ended up shoving her all the way through the intersection. Had to get a lawyer involved. He told us no matter what the accident is, call an attorney before you say anything to either insurance company. Once they have your statement its pretty much in stone. In the end she got the car fixed, all medical covered, more than a year of therapy for back and neck pain covered and a check for around $4k out of it.

You are not allowed to use any scents that have cervid urine in them. Sweet! I was wondering why I was still seeing this stuff at Sportsmans! Just be sure it is marked synthetic. Its been a while since I was I cabelas, but they were still selling pee products and also deer cain and other bait products both of which are now illegal in az. Its not the stores responsibility to only sell legal items, its your responsibility to know what you're using.

On a side note, how you doing with the synthetic scents? I bought a couple of the synthetic 'buck bombs' I'll be trying out this weekend. I had some success with the original buck bombs a few years ago, but havent used scents since they banned doe pee.

I cant think of the number now, but theres a forest rd that runs out of superior on the south side of town that I used to kill a bunch of rabbits off of. I used to hunt that area a lot for small game when I lived out there. Wasnt uncommon to smack 3 or 4 cottontails in a night with my bow and rubber blunts. No matter where you go, it'll be a good adventure for the kiddos. Good to get them started young. Have fun and good luck to you guys.

I have a cnc mill with a 4th axis that could pretty easily be made to do either straight or helical fluting. However, I think I'd probably recommend going with someone that has experience in doing this specific type of work, as there is undoubtedly some hidden tricks to the process that may bite the inexperienced in the butt and consequently damage your barrel. There is a lot of stress introduced into metal when it is machined, and it is very common for metal to relieve itself when machined and bend. If your barrel comes out bent, it would need to be straightened. It may stay straight as an arrow. I have know idea as I've never cut a barrel, but I have machined a lot of butterfly shafts and gear shafts for aircraft engines, and these will very often bend, making straightening after machining a normal part of the process. And this is dealing with parts that are made out of very expensive high quality metals that have been heattreated and stress relieved, yet they still often bend when you cut metal off them. I dont know what high dollar match barrels are made of, but ive read that stock barrels are often pretty cheap steel. Good luck on your project.
