Good luck to all you guys that are heading out. Im done til august, which is a good thing. Havent been able to hunt the early season for the last 3 years, but I have time dedicated for it this year. Cant wait to get me another velvet muley! And I'll probably go ahead and kill one of those pesky turkeys that are always hanging around my stand in August.

Add another one to that list. My ex lied, cheated, was financially wreckless to the point of being criminal, bankrupted me and treated me like a cash pinata. Dont know how I made it through that stuff without digging a hole for her, but I did. And 10 years after the divorce was finalized, I have a beautiful younger wife, a couple of gorgeous babies with the new wife and a career and financial level I honestly never thought I would see. And best of all, shes dead broke, lost her house and has nothing at all to her name. Sometimes karma drags its feet, but when it hits 'em it hits 'em hard! Those are pretty awesome pictures, I really hope you get the opportunity to take some in person. I called in a pack of 4 or 5 of them down by the rim in 27 about 7 or 8 years ago. Ran past me and bunched up about 80 yards away and started howling. Great experience! But not worth the cost of the deer and elk they destroy....

Thats correct after the economy has stabilized and found a new normal level based on it, but inflation does not happen over night it takes time. There will be an immediate influx of larger amounts of cash, which nets a near term benefit.

Nailed it. The wage increase doesn't help much with income tax, since most of them won't pay a dime anyway, but it does also give a nice bump in FICA, medicare and SS withholding. The brilliant voters of Az just gave the fed a raise, not themselves.

If they want to continue selling at the same level, they will have to drop their prices to keep the price at what the market will bare. OtherwIse, that 20% mark up will create an opportunity for u.s. suppliers to actually be cheaper than mexico, there by shifting sales to the right side of the border, which would create jobs and increase income and corporate tax revenues. Also, an increase in output always equals a drop in individual piece prices. I California avocado farmer will sell 10000 crates cheaper per crate than 100, and still hold a higher margin for doing it. And if he doesnt, somebody else will drop their price to get that 10000 crate order. an increase in demand always encourages competition in the market. Trade barriers have worked for other countries there's no reason to think they won't also work for us.

You guys should watch reagans inauguration speech from his first term. Its on youtube, although I believe it is incorrectly labeled as his first state of the union speech. I was watching them a couple weeks ago. Kind of spookie how much he said 30 years ago sounds real familiar today. I guess its true, those who dont know history are doomed to repeat it. Apparently about every 30 years, or roughly every generation.

That was my understanding too, it would be made up through commerce.

I read before that money transfers from the u.s. are something like the 3rd or 4th largest portion of mexico's economy. We are also their largest trade partner. Basically, they're going to do what we want or they're screwed..... well, even more screwed, since they're already screwed.

Outstanding buck! Congrats to him on sticking with it and getting it done.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. It probably will work a little better than arresting people, dropping them at the border, then watching as they just stroll back in a few days later. Its a good thing that the bp is going to get some new infrastructure, funding and manpower.

Hey trophyhunter, I hope you're ready to spend another week 'bathing in liberal tears'! I can hear the pissing & moaning already. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/25/us/politics/refugees-immigrants-wall-trump.html?_r=0

I think everyone would probably agree to that. Unfortunately, in a lot of these countries, mexico, many south american/african/eastern european countries, standing up to the people In power is a real good way to end up in a hole. And not alone either, theres a good chance your wife and kids will be there with you to set an example for anyone else that might feel like standing up for themselves. The mexican people will never get anything until the u.s. starts making harsh demands for development and backhanding the crap out of their government with sanctions. As they say, mkney talks and bs walks. So basically the ball is still In our court to act first.

Sounds like you worked yourself into a higher tax bracket. Instead of giving up the income, you need to get involved with a good financial planner if that's the case. Between things like sep IRA's & solo-401k's there's little reason to give the gov so much money that it's not worth earning. I dumped a small fortune into those things this year. The upside is that it dropped me down 2 tax brackets and while I certainly won't get a refund I probably won't have to write a check. The down side is I can't touch my money until I'm 59. But if I wrote that check to Uncle Sam instead I'd never see it again.

Happy birthday. Hope its a good one for you!

I would be willing to bet a lot that the houses they were building were not only selling cheaper, but also selling a lot fewer and a lot slower. I bought my first house in 2009. It had been built 3 or 4 years earlier and sold for $308k. I got it as a foreclosure for $125k. There was so many houses on the market, it was rediculous. Houses that were only a couple years old and some still had furniture in them because the people who lost it couldnt afford a moving van. There were some short sales that were brand new, never lived in.

Its where all the giant deer are.... and apparently it's a super big secret so dont tell anyone.

Nature is merciless. Saw a similar video where a muley killed another buck a while ago. I guess these snowflakes need to head on out and mark off some safe places for those weaker bucks. -
I probably should have clarified but I was talking about times when you aren't sneaking around but crashing, stomping, laughing and talking. There is no question that they knew I was there. I have also watched bedded deer remain in their beds while people passed by them. The deer knew they were there but weren't spooked. Kind of like when you are sitting on the couch and hear a fire truck. You are aware of it but you only really pay attention to it when they cut off the siren and you know it's close but you wonder where it went? Yeah, it definitely seems like you always kick one up when you're not paying attention. I always come in pretty loud to the trail cameras so that whatever is there will hear me and move off on their own rather than trying to sneak in and then spook something. I've had pictures on my cameras within less than 20 minutes of me leaving. I also think they don't tend to get as alarmed if they can hear you coming from a ways off, but certainly wouldn't stalk them like that. Bottom line is stalking is the toughest way to kill a deer. It's a good move to get advise from others so as to not have to learn everything on your own through trial and error, but it's one of those skills that has to be practiced in the field. And you'll have to see a lot of little deer butts bouncing away before you ever get good at it. Sure is a fun way to hunt though.
-
If theyre in sight, then they can see you too. The minute you start a stalk, you need to drop over the backside of the hill you are glassing from and get out of sight, circle around and come up above them. Deer can bust you at 800 yards, especially if you move quickly or skyline yourself. Its not uncommon for them to stay put and see what you're going to do, and then split as soon as they lose sight of you. If you're going to try to stalk head on, better find yourself an invisibility cloak.
-
Congrats on your pig. They are a blast to hunt.

Nice! Congrats to both of you!
