After looking at the pics of this guy on the original thread, I have to say that I'm not really convinced here. I present as evidence: a.) he wears a hat with a nice curve to it, not even the slightest bit of 'straight-billing' going on. 2.) He has a nice big smile indicating that he is happy and proud over his harvest. IV.) He also hold his hand forward displaying his prominent thumb in an bold erect position, further indicating his joy over the kill and positive attitude. These are all things that are required on this site of any kind of decent hunter. No douche could possibly duplicate this behavior. Add to that the fact that the only people in the world that the Forest Circus & NP Service hate more than hunters are guess who.... wait for it.................. GUIDES! This guy's getting railroaded hard by the Fed and the state agencies are playing along just like the dirty tax gobbling whores they are to keep Big Brother happy. I tell you, it's Edward Snowden, version 2017!!!

Awesome buck! Congrats.

You've got some dandies. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

I get the feeling there may be more than just a little whiskey in the saddle bags those two are sporting....

That's my sop too. Noisy ones get a pass, the quiet ones lose their heads. Natural selection at work.

Big congrats! Awesome bull!

I'm not very squimish and have never been particularly afraid of snakes or anything else, but........ any place that has so many rattlers that they start forming herds, that's someplace I don't need to hunt. You can have it! Glad you made it out in one piece.

My buddy's first archery buck - and a small one for me.

We had some great coues bucks on camera and had seen some nice muleys in person, so we were going into the hunt with very high hopes. The plan was that my good buddy Jeff & I would be up there for 10 days and my daughter would drive up and hunt with us on the weekends. Life had other plans though, and with about two weeks before season opened I received a handful of contracts on new jobs for my machine shop that had been looming for a while, so now our ten day hunt was cut down to five. And my kiddo picked up a new job, so she basically just had the first weekend. Jeff is an accomplished rifle hunter with some nice coues to his credit, but he'd not yet been able to harvest one with his bow. That changed on opening day. He had a couple smaller ones pass him by early in the morning, then around 10:00am a couple more little guys came in. One little forky buck gave him a perfect 20 yard shot. He'd been so amped up and shaky when the the first ones came in that he tried real hard to calm himself with the second group and drew back and aimed at the forky with the intention of just practicing to stay calm, but once he was on target and felt calm & solid in the shot, he just let it go and the rest is history. He made a perfect broadside shot on the little buck and it only ran about 75 yards before piling up. That evening we had to leave camp to drive into town and meet up with my daughter. By the time we met up with her and drove back out to camp it was almost 1:00AM before we got to bed, so we decided to 'sleep in' and set the alarm for 5:00am instead of 4:00. We got to the stand late that day, but it still worked out pretty well. My daughter had a perfect shot at a little button buck, but her arrow sailed high over it's back. It must run in the family, because I also shot high over a little forky that same day. Our hunt that day was cut short when a monsoon rolled in with lightning and a downpour rain. We ended up back at camp by 3:00pm and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get a fire started to dry out our clothes. Next day was slow, we hunted all day but didn't see much. Called it a night and slept in a little the next morning, and then after my kiddo left for home, I went back out to sit in my stand. Sat through about 2 hours of intermittent rain and thunder, then the weather turned nice. This was my last evening to hunt, so I wasn't about to get down unless the lightning was right on top of me, but it wasn't real bad that night anyway so I just rode it out and enjoyed the show. It worked out for me. At just after 5:00pm I spotted a little forky working his way up the ridge to go by me. I immediately knew I would take him if given the opportunity, so my heart started pounding and the adrenaline started pumping. I took some deep breaths to calm myself down and kept telling myself, 'It's just another target... no big deal.' When he stopped at 20 yards and gave me a great shot with his head down, I sent one right through him and he bounded off a mere 50 yards before piling up within sight of my stand. All in all, a great hunt, even though it was a short one.- 13 replies

I've got trail cam pics of a jaguarundi, their tales are ridiculously long. Looks like common house cat to me too. Not uncommon to find ferral cats way out from houses and towns. Not really that common in az but some other states have real problems with ferral cats killing off pheasants qual rabbits and other small game species

He did cook up really nice! -
Wow! Amazing muley! Congrats to him

That's just too awesome. I bought a longbow last year with the hope of trying a trad hunt this year but I never really found time to practice with it. Shame. Maybe in January, I know some ambush spots that could get me a fifteen yard shot. Helluva an accomplishment congrats again.

Wesome bear! Congrats to your friend.

I'm not against them either. I'm neutral. Had my opinion been asked, I would have said no thanks, but it doesn't impact my life greatly that they are here (although ranchers in the area are certainly feeling it). My anger on the issue is directed at a huge government debt, constant budget deficit, infrastructure problems in every state, cities that are so poor they are turning the lights out, a public education system (or rather public indoctrination system, but that's a different argument) that is a total joke, and this is what we spend my tax dollars on?!!! I don't really know wht everyone else's situation is, but I have several hundreds of dollars per week stolen from me and then write another big check at the end of the year. Not to mention sales tax property tax, excise tax, clean air tax, etc etc etc on and on and on.... and we can't afford good va treatment for our soldiers, good education for our kids, or to fix some of the thousands of crumbling roads and bridges around the country, plus a slew of other social problems but we have money to play with yet more packs of wolves. What a fricking joke. It's an even worse use of money then sending foreign aid to every crap hole country with no economy and no prospect of ever being self sustaining. Paying taxes to our government is like handing a credit card with no limit to a gambling drug addict that has expensive tastes and lives to shop and telling them to go have the best time they can, and don't worry we'll pay the bill later!

Not true at all, I would definitely render that type of first aid, just as long as you're a chick that looks exactly like Kate Upton. If you're a dude or an ugly/hefty gal, then you're definitely go to die out there.

The taxes are what piss me off more than anything. Every election cycle there's about 1/2 a dozen school bonds on the ballot, because there's just not enough money for new text books or teacher salaries, but gosh dang it, there's always a little extra to play with wolves and spotted owls and whatever other furry thing is trendy today.

Congrats! That's an awesome bear. -
Spot and stalk coues! Doesn't get any tougher than that. Congrats on a great buck!

Why stop there: we know how to clone stuff now, and there used to be wooly mammoths here. Ranchers will just have to learn how to raise cattle around manny and Sid the sloth.
