that one's on my list too. But the wife had financial mileposts we have to hit before I can write that check. #batteredhusbands I would have to have "F you" money before I'd even consider going on one of them hunts. Can't believe the money they get for those hunts. Its insane! Thats why its just a dream, will never happen unless I can win a raffle somehow. Move to the Alaska wilderness, those guys on those discovery channel shows shoot them for sustenance I think it's one of those things that's more doable than people think. I read about a guy that did a dall's hunt on another forum a few years ago. As I recall, I think he said it took him about 5-6 years to save up for it a few hundred bucks per month. If you're making car payments and paying interest on $6 cups of starbucks liquid diabetes, then you'll never go. If you can live without making interest payments, you'll be able to pull it off. It all depends on what your priorities are.

Can't believe the money they get for those hunts. Exactly why you haven't seen a picture of my crookedass smile grinning over the top of a big white sheep yet. But I've been putting a little extra away & trying to pay down my debt, so at this rate I should get to go on that hunt sometime in the next 3-50 years.

Yes it sure does suck. Best wishes for him & his family.

Ive only found a few in my life. Nothing huge. Me too. Mostly spikes & forkies or slicks. I've found some pretty big looking elk skeletons, but since they always have the antlers sawed off I'm not sure how big they were.

Mount Lemmon Higher Elevations Help Please
mattys281 replied to broadhead's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Okay cool. I won't have the chance to pick up a tree stand or ground blind for the early season this year so I guess I'll just set up somewhere and break up my silhouette with some brush. Thanks. Ive killed a couple off the ground too. Go on amazon or somewhere and get you some burlap blind building material and some para cord. You can string it up between trees high enough so that when you sitting flat on your butt you can just see over the top. Pile some sticks and stuff around it and youre instantly invisible. Youll have about $10-15 invested and its very light to pack around with you. Doesnt offer the concealment for drawing your bow that a pop up blind does, but its much better then sitting in the open and you can draw your bow low and then kinda rise up over your camo curtain for the shot. -
Mount Lemmon Higher Elevations Help Please
mattys281 replied to broadhead's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Lots of trees to sit in. I’ve killed my last three az archery deer above 8500 ft in August. Don’t worry too much about what other people are doing, just find a spot where deer are hanging out and stick around until one shows up. Easy peasy. -

Outstanding! Good for you. -
+1 to this. Been my dream I think since I read about chuck adams doing it when I was a teenager. That dream's coming true November 2019.

So is Prescott. Look elsewhere.... What if we start swapping out the dirtbags and druggies? You’ll get more of the people ya want and less of the kind ya don’t We’re pretty much completely surrounded by retirees. I love it! They’re quiet, always willing to help with whatever, and love to get together and have drinks. My kinda people.

Are you crazy? A man could get killed doin that!

We just got another lab pup a few weeks ago, otherwise I'd take one. Great looking dogs, good luck with your sale.

It's really not about safety as much as it is keeping it away from the non-hunting public and private property. I have a house south of Prescott in the mountains. We have deer all over our neighborhood, including some pretty decent bucks. In talking with some of my neighbors I've been told that they still have problems with people driving the roads through the neighborhood and "hunting" out of peoples yards. There was a story I read on this site a few years ago about some rocket scientist shooting a buck right off the fairway at the golfcourse in Verado. And of course, there's the infamous bull elk that was killed right outside someones yard a few years ago. As usual, some rude ignorant disrespectful jackasses have ruined it for everybody.

Guess they all figured a t-bone wasn't worth getting stuck in the mud over.

Go hunt. A couple of inches of antler aren’t worth enduring the wait all over again, unless he’s just looking for an excuse to bail.

I would more likely believe lost mail. I sold a bow to a member down in Tucson earlier this year and it took 4+ weeks for his money order to get to Phoenix. Post mark confirmed he sent it when he claimed, but I guess that little envelope fell into a crack some where and stayed in limbo for almost a month

First time scouting this season, first mountain lion spotted

Always exciting to see cats. I’ve only glassed one up once and bumped into a couple hiking and driving. Makes for a very cool day -
I have a couple little ones hanging around my neighborhood too. Can't hunt them, as the herd lives right in our yards, but it's still fun to see some velvet hanging around with all those slicks.

I did in high school. Great workout, and definitely a good thing to know if you happen to be a scrawny sixteen year old smartass with no filter on your mouth.
