I had to post my property

Good way to weed out the illiterate deer and the hoodlum ones with no respect for the law.

    Baiting Javelina

I just love the 'lazy baiter' talk. Maybe true back east where people hunt 40 acre woodlots but there's nothing easy about hauling 60-80 lb. Loads of feed salt or whatever through the desert on your back. I tried it one year a couple years back and had to give it up because I'm too lazy to bait and didn't have time to keep fresh feed out there. Besides, bairing only works in an area that already has animals moving through which means you have to put in some work to find a good spot before you do anything else. I've yet to find a good source of magical corn that makes deer appear out of thin air.

    feral hog in az

I hear there's. Herd along the verde river some where. My undersranding of it is that hogs cannot stray too far from water so that's probably a good place to look.

What's your most important piece of hunting gear?

I would have to say clothing. Can't hunt if you're freezing and heading back to camp. No. 2 is a good butt pad to make those all day sits bareable.

    Drone Use

I'm sure it is a tactic that will be employed by people who hunt for money. Right or wrong there is a pressure to find big animals and people will do what they can to achieve that.

    !!!!!!!!38M!!!!! BULL!!!

That's always been the hardest part of hunting public land: you have to deal with the public.

    How you bow hunt coues

For me its all about the terrain. In noisy country I sit ambushes. In better stalking country I'll try to sneak in. Frankly though I've mostly hunted ambushes for the last few years and believe, for me at least, it gets me far more close encounters and more shot opportunities. The trade off is that I see fewer deer than when working binoculars. However since I'm not a horn hunter I'm willing to trade seeing a couple bcks within bow range over seeing ten of them at long range whom I have low probability of getting close to.
  9. I've got a brand new bow I just bought on Sept 20 that I'm wanting to unload. It is a 70 lb. Hoyt Spyder 30 set at 29" draw length, right handed. It is set-up with: Limb driver drop away rest 10" b-stinger stabilizer Fuse Carbon Blade 7-pin sight 3/16 peep sight Tight Spot 5-arrow quiver & a Hoyt soft case. Total package price was $1577.46 out the door. I'd like to get $1300 out of it. If someone is interested in just the bow without the accessories, we can talk about that too. This is a great shooting bow. It's the nicest bow I've ever owned, but I just can't make myself like it better than my Diamond Black Ice. I'd say it has about 150-200 arrows off of it. As for trades, I'm currently intereseted in the following items: Sub compact pistol 9mm or .380 AR15 A nice .308 or .30-06 bolt action. 10x binoculuars that are Swaro, Leica, Minox or Vortex. If someone's interested, PM me on it.

    My neighbor's chicken killer

Auditor says AZ Game and Fish wasted $1 million

I read a while back that they are the only state agency that has a budget surplus, even with some waste. I'm neutral to the azgf, so I have little knowledge or opinion on their operations. However I have plenty enough experience with auditors to say that I am definetely not neutral to them. They earn their money by finding problems, so they fi nd problems. Many times a perceived inefficiency is actually a sacrifice a business has decided to live with in order to maintain a higher level of customer satisfaction. Auditors will label it a finding without even understanding what the heck it is they're dealing with or without knowing the company's core values and business model.

    Sold

I currently have two of these or else this one would have already been bought. If anyone is looking for an ultra smooth tack driver you'll be hard pressed to beat a black ice. I actually recently bought a brand new hoyt spyder and ended up selling it after a couple months because I couldn't make myself like it as much as my black ice.

    Broadhead tuning help please!

Assuming the rest is on centerline of the bow and the nock point is square to the string, about 90% of the broadhead problems I've dealt wkith have turned out to be me either flinching or torqueing the bow. Make sure the shooter is not the problem before fiddling with the bow.

    Arizona Mule Deer Hunting

I've seen one by Dwayne Adams at the Wide World of Maps store. Haven't read it yet, but he's definitely considered to be an authority on hunting in Az. In fact, he wrote the book on it... twice.

    Best Arrows?

I've been shooting pse's carbonforce x-weaves for as long as I can remember. So far I've seen them blow through a few deer and a couple Javis as well. They're a little on the light side but are tough as nails. I've been shooting the same dozen for more than three years now and haven't broken or lost one yet. Come to think of it, its been a few years since I went rabbit hunting... guess now I know why this dozen has lasted so long.

    Ruger MKIII

Never owned one, but always wanted one. I'd be on that like a fat kid on a cupcake, but have done way to much stimulating of the economy this month already . Good luck selling it, she's a beauty!

    WTB Savage bolt action

Ever hear of bartlein barrels? I'm not real familiar with what is and isn't a good match grade barrel but saw these on the grizzly industrial website. Its $375 for a 31" barrel. Was thinking about swapping out the barrel on my mauser. The action is good and its had some trigger work done so it pulls real nice but doesn't group that well. Of course it could just be that I'm a piss poor shot with a rifle.

Sounds like somebody's starting a fun project. What kind of barrel are you going to use?

    Broadheads

I'm thinking about trying some slicktricks next year. According to the guys on archerytalk, they are heatseeking, cause a deesrs vital organs to implode on impact (regardless of shot placement), and not only kill the animal, but also skin it quarter it and wrap the meat for you. Rumor is that next years models will also help with glassing and give you advice on planning the stalk.

    Broadheads

I will only use all steel heads. Shot nap nitrons for years and killed more than a couple big animals with them but they are discontinued now. I switched to g5 t3 me chanicals this year and it devastated the muley I shot at 32 yards. Made a 1.5 inch hole and blew through that deer like it wasn't even there.
