Good Luck to the New York Hunters

I have a standing offer for any CWT.com member to bow hunt my property(3M) in NY, Orange Co. between the towns of Montgomery and Pine Bush... 800+acs full of Deer, Turkey, Bears, ducks, small game galore... "Small" areas of public land through-out the State, along with the 1million acs Adirondaks... Big Deer in the 'daks, but you will be lucky to even see a deer in those huge woods.. NYAZHunter... I think you said you are up in Sullivan Co.??? There has always been lower numbers of deer there then in Orange Co. (Sullivan and Orange Co's are right next to each other, Sullivan Co. has less farms/open woods/fields/people then Orange Co.)... DEC even opened an early rifle bear season before the expanded bow deer season in 3M. Bow season now runs over 6weeks before the long rifle season, 3M gets 2doe tags(free)... There are high numbers of deer, so DEC is trying to give more tags and a longer season... I bet more deer are killed by vehicles on the road that goes along our property(maybe 1/12mile) each year, then an Arizona hunter could kill in a life-time... Thats a very generous offer. I've got a hunt planned in Nebraska & am working on one for CA next year, but would love to take you up on it in 2016.

    Need an electrician

I need an electrician to install a subpanel in the garage of a new house I'm moving into. I'd like to have the work done this weekend. If somebody does this type of work or knows someone who does, please pass it along. Thanks. Matt Stevens (602)908-2931

    Need an electrician

Great question. Sorry! I'm out in Avondale. Nearest major cross streets are Buckeye & Avondale blvd. I actually already have a subpanel in my old house, so I need someone to remove it and reinstall it in the new house. I guess it'll take a few hours, but not real sure???

Im interested in doing an eastern whiteys hunt in the future. Are you guys hunting private land or is there some public land opportunity?

Unit 8 and 9 not managed for trophy elk

I don't think there's much need to worry about what the G&F does one way or the other. The forest service is very proactively managing for trophy elk, deer and everything else with all their recent road closures. Those that have a hard time leaving their side by side & beer cooler behind are going to have lower success rates (allowing for greater tag sales without greater harvest numbers), but those of us that wear out a couple pairs of boots per year are soon to be in hog heaven. That is if we can ever draw a tag....

    wtb a bow for girlfriend

Well played sir. You get bonus points if she's holding the bow in the pic. Kidding aside, I wish my wife had more of an interest in it. She likes flinging lead but never really fell in love with the flight of the arrow. She has lots of other great qualities though, so I guess I'll keep her.
  16. Welcome aboard. Thats a great coues buck!

    wtb a bow for girlfriend

Id give this some serious thought: if it turns out she likes shooting, then what the heck are you going to do for "me time"??? Pretty soon. She could end up killing bigger bucks/bulls then you, which would basically be the end of the relationship. If you're set on it, diamond and bowtech both have some decent woman size rigs at good prices.

    Unit 24B Coues help!

Make sure you identify which of the two before you shoot as I have seen both in some of the same areas. I'd hate for you to shoot a young Mule Deer mistaking it for a small racked WT. If you can hunt after the weekend there will be less people out there. Excellent point Predator. I once stalked to withing about 45 yards of a nice heavy beamed muley buck out there only to get busted by a herd of coues deer that was feeding about 30 yards away from the mule deer. Never even saw those little turds until they blew out of there & sent the muleys out the other side. They're range overlaps and they often like the same type of areas.

    Unit 24B Coues help!

I'm not super familiar with the far west and northern edge of the unit, but I've killed a few deer in there. They're literally all over the place. October rifle hunt will likely be crowded, but there's some pretty steep terrain between Superior & Globe that holds them and is completely inaccessible by motor vehicles. Superstition wilderness area also holds plenty of opportunities if you're willing to pack in & get away from the crowd. A word to the wise though, you've got a chore on your hands to get one out of those areas. The last one I packed out was pretty small 2x3, so I took him in one trip, but it was back-breaking to say the least. A 1.5 hour hike in was a 3.5 hour hike coming out. The next one I shoot in there I plan to bone out on the spot & leave the skeleton behind.

    Archery deer unit 1 ?

You definitely want a pocket full of tags. I know unit 27 a lot better than unit one, but I've seen several bears while poking around in 1 and see them usually a couple times a year in 27. Also as Lance mentioned, turkeys all over the place. I could have killed about 30 turkeys this last August, but wouldn't spend the time on dealing with a dead one until after I'd filled my deer tag, and after that happened I split right away. Anyhow, it's a great mixed bag hunt. Also keep a video camera with you, because you'll more than likely see some real nice elk while you're up there. Let me know if you head up there for certain. I'll be there next summer & we can go grab a beer at that pub in Alpine.
