NYC woman defaces National Parks throughout the west with her "art"
mattys281 replied to BigMoqui's topic in The Campfire
Her "art" looks more like the illegible scrawlings of someone that didn't have a real high IQ to begin with might do after suffering a severe head trauma. I'd sure like to give her a noggin a kick or two to see if we can't knock it back into alignment. I'd even be willing to go 3, maybe 4 kicks on that one.... She identifies herself as a feminist? That must be an old indian word for "self righteous, inconsiderate, (censored)!" -
According to the regs salt and salt based products that are made for livestock are fine.

That's quite a year. Congrats to Tessa, and to you too, Dad. I've got a juniors doe hunt with my 13 y.o. daughter in a couple weeks and can't wait. Pictures like this make it even harder to count the days.

Can I enter my deer from august archery or does it have to be rifle season deer?
-
Thats some great country. Saw my first bear up there and there used to be some elk roaming around that lake too... here any buggling?

"That's bowhunting!" My Illinois archery deer hunt on a budget
mattys281 replied to naturegirl's topic in Other Big Game
That picture struck me funny. Looked just like my dodge caliber when I went out for open in weekend. Fortunately, my buddy was there too with his truck in case I needed to put something dead in it. My wife had a fender bender in my jeep right before deer season, so I headed out in that little car stuffed full of backpacks, cooler, bow, target, treestand etc. I felt like the beverly hillbillies with even the front passenger seat loaded. We were out for ten days so it took some stuff. Good times! -

Just looking at your pics again, I couldn't help but notice that little car seems awful full. Where were you planning to put these dead deer anyway? Not thinking about doing something offensive and strapping it to the hood were ya??? http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/51763-tis-the-season-for-kills-a-little-advice-given-for-leftover-part-disposal/ -
Thats great. Hes going to make a really nice mount. Congrats again!

Thats unfortunate about not being able to recover the deer. Ive lost one myself and didn't care for the experience. At this point all you can do is try to learn from it and keep going. You'll get there. Sure sounds like a great time. Im looking forward to trying my hand at eastern whities next year. -
Congrats on the coues buck. Hes a dandy!

I thought I was ready for a new love last summer, but instead I ended up dropping a boat load of cash on a hoyt that I just couldnt make myself like once we left the archery store. Ended up selling it a couple months later for about half the cash. Im back with the old faithful black ice. Shes put down a few deer and a javelina, and I believe she's got a few more in her.

Great job dad! Congrats to your kiddos.

Congrats! Thats a fine looking coues buck. Is he going on the wall?

Save your money and by some good boots or outerwear instead. They've yet to make a bow that can make a deer more dead than the one you are currently shooting.

Good luck to you Speedy. I'm supposed to head up to Nebraska next fall to hunt with a buddy and try to knock the eastern whitey off my deer slam list. Be sure and post some pics when you get back!

Don't know about bucks, but there's always plenty of rabbits and quail over there.

Its hard to beat the desert in January. None censored weather, scorpions and snakes are all hold up and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Nothing bad there.

Different sort of game back there isnt it? I read a bit on missouriwhitetails.com and find it pretty interesting. They might as well be hunting on mars it sounds so different from here.

Ps: detailed intimate knowledge of a decent spot will get you a lot further than a vaguely familiarity with two different units. Study the success rates x tag allotments in the regs, consider some of the advise you've been given, pick ONE area, and spend all your time there so you can figure out the good spots. Good luck!

Seems like your cup runneth over with possible locations so i'll throw a different type of nugget your way: looking back on my early fiascos as a bow hiker I think I really cost myself a lot of time trying to find that one magic spot that was full of so many deer that any fool could kill one. You dont need the worlds greatest honey hole, all you need is a decent amount that aren't over pressured. Id take a handful of easy deer over a battalion of well educated deer any day of the week. But I like venison a lot more than stories of the one that got a way, so take it for what its worth.

Great video and amazing scenery. Well put message too!

Im a part owner of a small hunting forum, most of whom users are from back east. Some of them do really well and make it look easy. Others struggle and go lots of years with empty tags just like our hunters do out here. no matter where and no matter how, hunting has no gaurantee, unless your shooting farm raised critters out of a pen... thats a whole other can of worms! Btw, if you're able you should take one shot up on his generous offer. I met him a couple years ago down south and this guy knows his deer.
