I personally would not give my money to one of these deer farms and my first response is to cringe to hear someone talk about 'trophy deer' or 'hunters' in relation to their operations. They arent trophies by any measure, and its dang sure not hunting in my book. Any time theres a 100% success rate, no chance of failure, is it really hunting, or is it slaughtering at that point? That having been said, I cant say that im morally opposed to their business and i certainly wouldnt want it stopped. Selective breeding programs are common for dogs, horses, rodeo bulls, dairy cows, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, and probably many other animals for commercial purposes. If its bad for deer it must also be bad for other animals, so thats an implication i dont want made. Likewise, to say its wrong to kill pen raised deer can easily be used to set a precedent in the commercial meat industry. This is also thin ice. You have to keep in mind peta doesnt have a 5 year plan, they have a 20 year plan. That plan is not to erradicate hunting all of a sudden, it is to chip away day by day and year by year until all human use of all animals is gone. Dividing hunters into groups that fued and squabble with each other is a good way to take small bites of our sport at a time. If you dont think theyre successful, just ask anyone that used to hunt lions in cali, or bait bears in any of the states that have banned baiting. in the end, i dont like it so i wont use it. But i have no issue with people breeding animals and killing them for profit.

I can't believe they charge that much. I adjusted the pull on my 700 bdl and since I had it apart I cut some shims for the action and floated it in the stock. Total time of about an hour for a guy whod never done it before. I cant believe itd take an experienced smith more than 15 minutes start to finish. Thats piracy. I bought a timney for mine too but havent tried it yet. I have to clear out the stock as the timneys a little fatter so I'm going to hold off until I get a different stock. Thinking about doing a hogue with pillar bedding.

That 'science' concludes nothing. All you have here is another opinion with little, if any, supporting data. A bedded deer would not even hear the report of a decent bow at 100 yards much less jump up and run away, and ive seen alert deer at longer ranges (50 +) just stand there and watch that arrow come. Theres no way to predict what will happen in any situation regardless of yardage, but all youve read here is an article that grasps onto the thinnest of data to support the opinion of some 'expert' that was already held before the first arrow was launched.

Why not adjust the factory trigger? Just curious.

How terrible "Pregnant mule deer poached, twins found dead"

Totally different scenarios! Those wolves could generate hundreds of dollars in eco tourism over the next 20 years. -
In the words of my dear sweet ole ma, "if you cant think of something nice to say, just shut the $!@# up!" Guess I'm staying quiet on this one.

Plenty of time to let the air out of a doe. Find a good trail and climb a tree. I got a buddy in nebraska that swears by the tree saddle for that kind of fast set up hunting. Apparently you can get situated in any tree regardless of branches. Worth a look.

Happy birthday! Hope it was a good one.

Rifle hunt, might let him walk, on a bowhunt he scores exactly: shooter! I wont let a nice 4x4 walk by my bow.

Me too. Looks like he'll still be fuzzy all the way through the October hunts, but those bases look big so he'll finish nice. If apache doesnt let the air out of him that is.

Good luck on starting the family. My little ones are the best part of life and I wouldn't trade them for anything. When considering a trip, don't over look northern Cali. blacktail deer. Tags are sold on a first come/first serve for most units & prime blacktail areas also have good black bear hunting for a combo deal. Plus, you can buy two deer tags. That's my big adventure for August 2016.

They're not there that often, but every once in a while I get them on cam over in 27 up around the 8500 ft. mark. What can you say, some little javis just like to get high once in a while.

I hear ya, but daddy needs a couple kids with dr. at the front of their name more. Just imagine the Christmas and fathers day gifts theyll be able to afford!

So many good units, so little time.... I seldom get to hunt my favorites due to location, but 24b has been real good to me and its convenient. Im also in the 33 fan club, although it can seem crowded if you're not careful.

Summit viper sd stand. Your butt will thank you after an all day sit. Whether climber or fixed position, get something with a hanging hammock type seat. Ive used several platform type seats and even when I double pad them my rear is still killing me by nightfall. I also like the ones with the wrap around top. That rail is dang convenient for resting your bow on, hanging a water bottle off of and you wont fall out if you catch a little catnap around lunchtime.

This should be your golden rule. Lock boxes only keep bears out, people just pry them off. Ive lost two that I thought were well hidden, well off the beaten path and also In lock boxes. I wish nosey bears were the only problem in the woods, people suck!

It wouldnt be to hard to elude them if you take to the brush and stay there. They always get busted when they come back into town. As for cwt members getting them, im in but I refuse to shoot them past 60 yards with my bow or 400 yards with my rifle so as to not have my ethics, income, eternal salvation, sexual orientation, voting party, manliness and/or bloodtype questioned.

I second that motion and move to also include the chitbag defense lawyers who screw the system every way they can in order to keepthis trash on the streets. Ive never seen a single cholla by itself, theres room for the council on the next one over.

I wish I hadnt read this one. I forgot to lock my jeep the other day and sure enough some ahole let themselves in and made away with my wives phone and a crappy set of binos I had rolling around in there. I figured it was just jackass teenagers cruising the neighborhood checking for open doors and lowhanging fruit. Now I'm out of town for a few days and worried what I'll find when I get back.

Yeah me too. Luck favors the prepared. -
I had a gf years ago that carried one with her every time we went any where in case of bee stings. Not sure what to say other than im glad youre alright and just get used to having it with you. Keep it with your keys and wallet so you don't forget it. If it were me id be looking for some spots a little closer to the road, thats for sure. Cant imagine dealing with that in the middle of no where.

I've killed several blacktail, but will keep that in mind. I would like to get a good blacktail someday. A backpack hunt chasing them would be a lot of fun. im planning on giving it a go next year for the archery hunt. Let me know if you're interested in carpooling. Helluva long drive to either trinity alps or yolla bolla from anywhere in Arizona.

My 4x4 muley fell off the wall twice due to using a wall anchor. The first incident i incorrectly blamed on the cat, but kitty was long gone when it happened the second time. It doesnt feel that heavy, but unless you want to come home to find your hard won trophy onthe ground, use the biggest screw that will fit in your mount and stick it on a stud! Trust me.
