Ive seen lots of people just drop blocks with no water. I assume you are being you with a wise comment but water is critical to a salt lick to get it into the soil. Best store bought lick i bought was a gel. Mixed right in the soil quickly. Had a old and in decline buck show up with a doe at it. Zero mass but had nice width. 11 points on him too.

That was kind of my angle. Momma shot that idea down though. Funds are too tight right now and im wrapping up what may be my very last job for quite awhile. Covid was not good for a guy that remodels forclosed homes. Then of course after they start forclosing again i will be swanped.

Checked a cam today and a week ago. Both times there was a covey very close to the water that almost gave me heart attacks. There is a more open and less hidden wster source about 150 yarda away down hill. Look for water.

Looks like you have a hard hunt coming up. Hopefully you get into some. Sheep tags this year. A blessing and a curse all in one.

Because water is farther between places in my experience. Compared to places I've hunted elk at least. Seems northern units have way more tanks and natural water sources.

Considering the stud that's a pretty darn good deal.
