This is all about cams though. Paying to learn a better skill set is just that, learning. Running cams requires no skill set when placed on every water source. And again, not for or against them but there is a huge difference between glassing and setting a bunch of cams. One is hunting, one is not.

I'm not upset. I just think you are out of touch. I also think as already stated the stamp idea doesn't hurt guides, just us peasants. Don't take anything I say personally, I'm sure you are a good hardworking dude. Just expressing my opinion on this general topic of cams. Nothing is meant to be hurtful.

I don't hate on any guides at all. Guides give their all. Outfitters cash in on that. Some outfitters are good, some are scum of the earth.
-
Never once implied you dont work hard. I'm sure you do. But your comment about cams makes it sound like the same results are attainable for regular dudes as they are for outfitters. That's just not true.
-
Yes I said that. Based on the go buy 100 cams comment. Do you have 6k to drop on cams? I don't but if you do, I'm sincerely happy for ya. Guides aren't necessarily Priveliged, I'm just saying the cost won't be out of their pocket, it will be out of the clients, therefore still making it harder for the average dude that has no justification to pay the extra fee. And don't be silly, of course you can buy hunting skills. Just spend $6k on cams.

Simply putting things in perspective, its not that hard to understand. You made it sound like it's an anti guide thing and it's not. I like the idea of guiding simply because it's the only way to get paid to do what You love. Seems pretty simple on my end. And then you throw in the go buy 100 cams comment. What world do you live in? Oh yeah, the one where you dont need 100 cams... makes total sense now. I'll just keep doing my thing over here I guess.

Honestly that's a very fair question. Yes seasons overlap, but the worse offending hunts are gonna be the early elk, kaibab and strip hunts. But like I said permits per cam WILL NOT change the situation, they will only put $$$ in the game and fish bank. Now its time to expect AZGFD to put their money where their mouth is. Is it a $ issue or fair chase???
-
I'm not against that. But to say just go buy 100 cams like anyone can do it is stupid. We don't all come from privelage. I'm not for or against cams.
-
Whos against guides? Just saying they wont brunt the force of the cost, they will simply transfer the cost to the client. And um.... 100 cams x let's say $60 per cam (for a decent cam) = $6000 Which amazingly probably cost more then a guided hunt. Privileged guy that gets to go keep people off of his private Midwest farms so only his clan can hunt them. Rollingmyfuckineyes.

Agreed. Thing is one has to wonder if game and fish is looking at this as a fair chase issue or a untapped cash cow issue. If it's a money issue they will simply charge a fee per cam which in turn the guides will happily raise their prices to cover, and also therefore also make hunting even harder for the common man. If it's truly a fair chase issue in their mind they will make a "season" for cams. And ya know what? It's pretty hard IMO to say cams aren't a fair chase issue. I.E. cams everywhere on every trophy elk and mule deer hunt. Patterning the big bull or buck, Armies of guys on ridges and blocking roads etc. I'm sorry but It's real hard to argue fair chase under those circumstances. Personally, I'd rather see a season for cams, or them go away completely before seeing a trail cam fee. A fee for cams will only give guides more advantage and regular shmoes even less in an already uneven playing field.

Eddie, I grew up in pa and was basically enamoured by the Indians and Buffalo as a little boy. Always wanted to find an arrowhead since i was young. Finally found my first on a very low success elk hunt years ago just like you. If you ask me, that is one he'll of a consolation prize. Sorry you didn't get to fill the freezer, but congrats on your awesome find.

Good for you man. Looks like a great late bunt bull. Ya done good.

I love that buck! Congrats again Kam!

Having to go through it alone absolutely has to be hard on anyone in this situation. That really sucks.

Had the plates for awhile. They are already set up and work beautifully. Picking up lots more deer then I used to. My next 2 months dont need big eyes for where we are gonna hunt.
-
If someone my way is heading your way you can borrow my big eyes. Just treat them with love, and or respect.
