Well this isn't surprising. I wasn't ever gonna post this because its one thing to beef with a dude on a forum but exposing something that might lead to a divorce and possibly break up a family i wouldn't want to do. But now it appears you guys are divorced so Anyhoo when this thread went down i had this woman contact me. I never responded.

I heard in Duwane Adams camp they use a bull call to locate and thats it. Then just move in and try and get eyes on them. Callings risky these days imo. Too many people trying but not knowing how to do it properly i think.

My oldest boy is graduating high school and wants to get into this field. Is it best to go get certified or can he go right in the field and learn there? We do have cochise college here and a 2 semester program here is pretty reasonable but wanted to ask here and see what you guys in this line of work might have to say.

Lots of great info here guys thank you all. Ultimately I'm gonna let him make his choice but I'm slightly pushing for at least the certs just so he has time to still be a kid and not have to full on thrust himself into the real world.

Thanks all. Seems like at minimum a cert is the way to go. Steve he has no experience at all, he just decided he was interested in welding and or hvac. Cochise college has an associattes degree for probably around $7k (64 credits i think). General welding cert and a arrospace welding cert each of which are 18 credits and roughly $2500

Castnet is the way to go. I always bring 2 just in case one gets caught up beyond repair. Just pay attention to regulations involving them because some lakes dont allow them at all and most lakes also state what live bait you are allowed to use. You cant use the same live baits at all lakes. Also get a little battery powered aquarium pump to keep the bait alive if you dont have a live well.
