I have the opportunity to harvest 4 Coues deer this year

That's a great buck! -
Not seeing it, just asking.
-
You can pick one up at an office now right?

The tripods already with me if I'm hunting. The only thing I would need to bring that's extra is the trigger stick (2 leg version) in which case I'll use it as a walking stick. And I'm not going to far from the truck on a youth hunt anyway.

Bipod imo is unnecessary weight (especially this year). I use a triclawps on the front of the gun and a primos trigger stick on the back end. Take a beanie and put it in the y of the trigger stick and use the little strap on the handle to cinch it down in place. Then you can slide it back and forth on the butt stock to raise and lower it. I'll set it up like that for the kid with the cross hairs underneath the buck so when they press down on the stock with there cheek it anchors the back end in place and it will raise the cross hairs right where he will need it. Very simple but very effective and next best thing to shooting prone but not having to worry about grass being in your way on a prone shot. My youngest drilled his first buck at 200 yards this way

And to think I buried those tasty morsels on my side yard..

Awesome buck!

At 200-400 you should be able to see if it's a spike through your binos. Just look close you will be fine.

Wow great shots and that's a cool looking buck

Looking for a mature coues cape.

Nice buck! -
Your wife is a badass! Congrats on the 100 club
-
Not me, never been there. But I read there are feral hogs out there too.
-
A mile and a half with a deer on his shoulders. Sounds like the boy has grit. Congrats to you both and that's a fine buck.

Zacks gonna measure. High 80s for sure might go a little over 90. I think I need to work on field judging behind the glass.
-
You should come down for archery in January with newlyminted. He'll have a deer and pig tag.

I got the mystery ranch backpacking version of the pintler. It's enough for what I do and less expensive then the "hunting" version. Big selling point is the meat shelf for long hauls. But I still always try to drop an elk near a road if possible.

Way to go man. I can't imagine not seeing deer at all until the last day. That has to be really discouraging. Looks like your perseverance paid off though. Congrats on one heck of a stud buck!

That was a freaking blast man. I thought he was mid to high 70s from the truck. Always cool when they get bigger on the ground. Congrats again to her, she's a trooper!
