Yep just what he said! Yeah stick the weapon in a claw or clamp and let a kid shoot 400+ yrds and let them be proud... they just squeezed the trigger. Just sayin! Triclawps does not make it easy for kids to shoot 400 yards. A bipod and or bag is far more accurate. You still gotta hold the back end of the rifle steady with the clamps. We only use the clamps depending on the terrain.

So does the inherent accuracy of this gun in the 6.5CM caliber transfer to other calibers? 6.5 seems like a no brainer but I'm thinking about 7mm stainless. Any other calibers right out the box shooting as well?

I ended up getting the black Friday deal from cabelas. Savage FV with accutrigger and heavy 26" barrel $219 after rebate. Can't beat that deal. Probably will cut the barrel down though and make it more manageable for my daughter.

Since you will be close for the field day you should check out 35A and 30B. Im pretty close and could show you some of the area if you want.

It can vary a lot depending on where you are hunting as well. Did you have an area or unit in mind? It's cool to see out of state guys plan on trips out here. Be careful one visit might get you hooked and you will want to leave Chicago in the rear view. I'm from PA and have no desire to go back. I love it here.

The amazing smoke tubes and tray work great with the electric smoker. I don't even bother with the chip tray in mine anymore. As we speak I'm pulling the trigger on a pellet smoker off of Target.com of all places. Camp Chef Smoke pro DLX on sale. $429 delivered and with tax. Has everything but the sear box. Best deal I could find and the Traegers are too spendy for me.

I have an electric smoker which is fine for smoking but like stated above the pellet smokers grill and bake as well. You can get some deals right now too. I'm thinking about losing the grill and electric smoker and just get a pellet grill.

Comes down to where you want to hunt. Az is full of sfuff. If your thinking chiricahuas I have a pass you can use. Also locally is Bisbee which is worth seeing once and tombstone also worth seeing once. Wilcox has a cowboy museum and you can stop on I10 and see the "thing". Not sure if I misunderstood, are you looking to hunt while your here or just a vacation? you can get an otc deer tag. Also there are a couple lakes if your into fishing.

Was some on Palmetto state armory and slickguns.com. Saw diamondbacks for $400 and and some kits on slickguns with 80% lowers for $269 with the lower for another $40 but could not find today. Ar10 kits for around $400.

Before I got my first elk i bought the outdoor edge video set on how to quarter and debone an animal in the field. It also came with a basic butchering video and game processing video. I've watched them several times. You are welcome to borrow them. Pm me your address if you want. He uses a small cow elk in his video.

I was also surprised how many guys have cut themselves. This is a big eye opener for me. I also think rossislider had an old post I read about the gloves. They have been a godsend. And its great because after use I just toss them in the washing machine and they are good to go. I used to just glove the left hand and keep the right hand ungloved. Not with muliple people working on an animal though. Everyone should probably have both gloves on. Had a buddy cut my finger once with a regular walmart knife. Only think that stopped it from going deeper was my fingernail. Had it been a havolan type I would not have been so lucky.

Thanks rossislider I was hoping you would chime in. I would add to wear gloves when pressure washing. They can cut skin and inject water onto your hands and fingers.
