Highs and Lows - Life stops for life-threatening illnesses
CatfishKev replied to 1uglydude's topic in The Campfire
Glad to hear she 8s doing better. Good luck on the hunt. I know you guys will have a blast. -
I don't know if It is true or not but I've heard safelite is cheaper because they use thinner glass and it does not last as long. Any insiders here can verify that?

You mean the crap was still there right?

Did a termite inspection for a guy that did not have termites. I told him he did not a treatment as my boss also told him the same thing a year earlier. He still wanted to do it anyway. While doing the job i asnswered his many questions and basically bullshi**ed with the guy. Noticed his little off road truck and asked about it. Turns out he wanted to get rid of it and didnt want to really hassle with it. I asked him how much and he said "I'll give it to you". I said "what??". Sure enough he just wanted it gone. All it really needed was a battery and tires. I guess it was a chase vehicle for baja races. It handles off road like a champ and is wicked fun to drive. I even offered the guy my commission on the job $300 and he said no.

The other cool thing is the dude lives right close to parker lake (35A) and his place butts up against state forest land. He has horses too. I told him he should let people camp on his property for hunts and also take people back and drop them off for their hunts to make side money. Hes a super nice agreeable guy. He is supposed to show me all around the back roads over there before my kids pig hunts coming up. Even though I live here I'm mostly familiar with the east side so I am looking forward to it. Im also planning on bringing him a bunch of game meat as a thank you.

Inspections range from $65 to $95 depending on how far away. Treatments are another story if they are subteranain. Sub jobs range from $1,500 - 2k. Around here. I know the same company in the valley starts at $1,200 which is pretty fair.

Already on top of it.

Any trappers near Sierra Vista?
CatfishKev replied to CatfishKev's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I had a lady say something similar once. We were walking into the woods together as it was getting dark. It was scary walking back out all by myself. -

Well this problem worked itself out. I found this crispy kitty on the road next to my spot. I picked it up in one crunchy piece and played a trick on my wife. The dry heaves I had were totally worth it. -
Female with horns Sonora México 2018
CatfishKev replied to Jesushunt's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I here theres a lot of gender benders in Mexico these days. It's a third world country, they are probably only now getting around to the gay 90s. -
$40 that's a heck of a deal. Where is El Golfo?
-
Are you in coues country or muley? It's strange I glassed a couple hills today that I've never not seen deer on but last couple days it's been a ghost town where I've been looking. Even at last light and first light. Only does

It sucks wounding an animal. It's happened to me more than I'd like to admit. All you can do is try your best to recover it and pray it expires quickly or totally recovers.
-
It sucks losing stuff. My vortex ranger is missing, I hope it just fell under or behind something. My gut says it fell out of the truck somewhere. How the kaibabs working for you?

Think I misunderstood your question. It's a draw imo as to whether one is better. Given the extra weight and size if I had to pick one it would be a headlamp
-
It basically is a flashlight so you can really only use it at night. It has a red light and a green light on it that are both on the same time which is Why you are supposed to wave it back and forth. It's kind of heavy (old promos one with green body) so I took it out of my pack and leave it as a last resort.

What is the benefit of a trust vs individual? I could be wrong but I think without a trust if you leave the can at home and you leave and another adult is in the house they could possibly be breaking the law? Maybe it doesn't apply if it is in a safe though.

Leave the pig tag at home and grab your deer tag and start glassing for deer. You will see tons of pigs for sure
-
As far as the blood light goes.. They kind of work. You're supposed to shine it backhand forth and the different colors are supposed to make the red look kind of like it's blinking. Your better off with a regular flashlight.

Woman shot at popular shooting area in Buckeye
CatfishKev replied to deercrazy's topic in The Campfire
Wow that sucks. I was about to ask if she was ok. -
Since I was young I've had a primal urge to hunt something and eat it. I didn't grow up that way though. On a wim in my early 20s myself and my mom's boyfriend at the time decided to buy bows and give it a whirl. I was hooked ever since. Then I read the book from Wal-Mart "Whitetail Strategies". The author talks about the "hunting gene". He talks about how hunting was such a way of life for our ancestors and it is simply interwoven into our dna. Looks wise I favor my mother and I look a lot like my uncle who was a big time hunter. My father on the other hand not so much. Now my son who favors my father also seems to not be so much into hunting but in contrast my daughter who favors me and my mom's side loves it. The hunting gene theory sure seems to hold water in my experience. How about you guys? Do you see similarities in yourself and your extended family? What is it that makes us love hunting so much?

Dang that's a big shark. Where do you buy fishin goats?
