Holy crap! Any side pics?

I'm definately not the one missing anything here. Let me dumb this down for you... Your buddy for the sake of anynomity, let's call him Harry P. finds a buck and thinks he owns it and all of its subsidiary rights. Harry P. decides he's going to sell said buck like a commodity to the Hogwarts school of wizardry. He tells you (Hermione) all about the evil phone call made by none other then the Lord of darkness himself Lord Voldemort, but for the sake of anonymity lets call him "he that shall not be named". So when "He that shall not be named" finds out Hogwarts is pulling permits for a unit he uses ultimate dark magic to find out the EXACT LOCATION within this unit of a very special deer. Now here's the part bleeding gash Hermione can't wrap her little lady brain around. Harry P. Made the wrong assumption that he owned the deer. Maybe, just maybe, "he that shall not be named" wasn't clued in on the deer because of Hogwarts permit pulling, it very well may have been because his evil cronie Draco Malfoy would rather see "he that shall not be named" kill the deer rather then Hogwarts and he was worried Hogwarts might bring in professional deer harvesters by the truckload and that deer would have no chance. Maybe he would simply rather see "he that shall not be named" get that deer then Hogwarts. Heres another poseible scenario. "He that shall not be named" maybe did know of that deer, maybe he never planned on hunting that particular deer because he would rather see his cronie Draco kill it since Draco found it, but maybe that only changed when Hogwarts came into the picture. Now if you'll excuse me I just finished my coffee and I got to go make some dark magic of my own.

Lol, thats exactly what my wife just said.

All I'm saying is if two outfitters are on the same deer one isn't going to back off just because someone else is already looking at it. If Ben's client was right there setting up to take a shot it would be a different story. Both are being paid money to perform a specific task. It's the nature of the business. This whole scenario is much different then just one hunter walking up on another hunter.

So it sounds like Duwanes guys knew where the buck was and Ben did as well. 2 outfitters now after a particular buck in a particular area. While it is shitty luck for Ben Duwanes shooter was at the right place at the right time. And Ben's spotter being on the buck don't mean crap when two different outfitters are on the same deer. Don't think whether he knew about it before A3 is even relevant, someone close to him did know. End of story.

First Time Mexico Coues Hunt DIY

Very cool man, congrats! -
I will flip the role. If Duwanes guys were on that buck waiting for Duwanes hunter to show up and kill it and A3 showed up.... Do You think for a second that A3 would just walk away if their hunter was right there ready to go? heck NO! They would have shot that buck right then and there. If you believe otherwise you are kidding yourself. Secondly, how did Duwane just happen to show up right at the right spot? Isn't it possible he knew there was or could be a big buck there? You publically called DuWane a snake, seems a pretty strong choice of words. I know him personally as one of the nicest, honest, down to earth dudes you could ever meet. I haven't met a single person that ever had something negative to say about him in fact quite the contrary. Here's a great example of how he teaches his guys to be. While on the late hunt I was riding along with his son in law on his clients hunt. We found a nice buck but wasnt quite what the client wanted. When leaving another guide with his client are passing us and he flags them down to see what caliber buck they were after. Not only did he tell the dude where the buck was, we went back to make sure they could find it. As it turned out they missed it so he went out of his way to help get the guys client on it and the dude killed the buck. Duwane congratulated his son in law for the gesture when we got back to camp. Did he have to help the dude out? Nope, but he did. Thats the type of guy DuWane is and has working for him.

DuWanes not known for blocking roads into an area and trying to keep other hunters out of an area. DuWanes not known for having tons of dudes on ridges glassing one animal to walk one hunter in to kill it. DuWanes also not known for ordering pallets worth of trail cams and having every deer or elk in a unit catolaged. Sorry but if A3s hunter was not there and Duwane himself was with his client that buck is fair game.

Anything for a laugh. Even if it means one of my testicles gets kicked up into my stomach.

Thanks Ed for the feedback. So wait on the chip repair, got it! If you can measure repaired points what are the expectations? Like trail cam pics or something to prove what was there before it was broken? Do i remember you mentioning you are an official scorer? If measured mounted do they have to do anything "invasive" to the mount?

Yeah, one of the only people that could make something like that look like a work of art.

I like duggaboys enthusiasm. He's a keeper, and if he's not a he... Duggaboy send me some nudes.
-
Yeah he was measured by myself and taxi back when I killed it. Didn't honestly much care then but I now have my reasons. The other half of this is i want to have the buck i just killed also measured so i dont have any future problems.

There's something magical about being out in a tent, especially if it's got a woodstove. Nothing beats it.

Got a youth rem 700 in 243 I'd like to either switch to 6.5 or 7mm08. It's the kids household starter gun. Was thinking sell and go for the ruger predator 6.5 or the ruger American 7mm08. But would It be more economical to just swap barrels? Is be looking for a sporter type or factory barrel, not a $$$ barrel. Not sure what I would need to do bolt wise either, change bolt face or what. I know it's probably a dumb question but this sort of thing ain't my bag baby.
