Mounting brackets for dual big eye spotter set ups
CatfishKev replied to CatfishKev's topic in The Campfire
Very nice! I think I could make one of those. Where did you find the aluminum stock? Do welding shops carry it? Also, just curious, what type of tripod head is that? -

Yeah there was a place in Prescott (Garrett Precision), don't think it's in business anymore. However I heard of another guy in Prescott that used to make them who owns a popular map making company. Won't post the name until I know for sure. Waiting to hear back. That being said, I'm thinking making my own as others have stated is the way to go. -

pretty sure they would have to be rotated. I found a used bracket for $300 which sounds good considering all the prices Ive seen. -
Yup, just stopped by wal mart. Nada.

When do the paper regs come out? I need them for my ritual!

Sorry man.

The route making feature is not what I meant. The point and go feature is where you point the GPS and point and lock the direction. Then you type in the distance and it alerts you when you get to that spot. It's great for stalking a bedded animal or locking in the spot where you shot an animal from where you were and it will take you to that exact spot to start looking for blood. You can "kind of" do it with onx but there is a far greater margin of error.

Id like to here more of the elk story with the wardens. Did he report them and that's why they have a supposed axe to grind? Was this before or after his arrest? Is the deer rut question a rhetorical question? Seems like you would already know the answer to that question.

Oh yeah, got confused with his license plate!

Hey everyone, Daisy is doing super well. She is eating on her own and seems like she will make a full recovery. Honestly it kind of blows my mind! As I understand it she was actually thrown from the vehicle which is amazing enough, and on top of the both legs were broken up top and on bottom and yet she defies all the odds. She was transferred from El Paso to the Phoenix hospital and is expected to be there for the next 6 weeks or so. Please continue to keep her in prayer. Saw the boys at Rojo house yesterday. They brought down a uhaul from Colarado and are slowly moving into and unpacking into the family home. As soon as they wrap that up they will head back up to be with Daisy. Thanks for the prayers!

I once heard from an old couple who drew tags often that the key was a perfectly filled out application with no letters touching the outside of the letterbox. Always wondered if there was some truth to it, although at that time tags were easier to get and I dont even know if you could do it online at the time. This would have been the early 2000's. It worked for me back then. Would you believe I drew a tag with no points for the early October hunt in 35a? Only buck I ever killed with a rifle, closer then any I ever killed with a bow and even smaller antlers.

Many of you know I had one of my guys die in a bad accident. His wife and him were killed and their daughter Daisy is still in the hospital. Found out no one had yet made a go fund me account for the family so I took it upon myself. Please read the story in the link and help out if you can.. https://www.gofundme.com/wzjze-please-help-daisy?pc=em_co_shareflow_m&rcid=r01-155623648261-9ef9d9cd692b4f87 Here's a couple pics from the accident. It's a miracle Daisy even survived

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks to Twigsnapper and Wellhead for their contribution to the family. Daisy is doing great! I will be updating the thread in the prayer request section in a few.

Check out cabelas ring bologna seasoning kit. It's a back east type thing similar to a summer sausage. Serve cold with mustard and pretzels. It does get exhausting trying to use burger up. Use it in place of some stir fry recipes or curry. I the end still comes out ok.

I'm a big supporter of LEO but I feel similar. I think You should be compensated well to put your life on the line but half the salary the rest of your life seems overkill at taxpayer expense.

You guys need to throw out invites the day before. I'd go if I lived nearby.

May be a good idea to have a dog go with you guys that has snake avoidance training. Another set of eyes and a good sniffer could be a life saver. This thread and the other one in the campfire has me thinking I'm gonna go take my Boston terrier to snake training, especially since she likes to run ahead of us and is a natural born killer.

You can't not let your kids and yourself experience life. However 4 years old and less need to understand what to look for but you should always be in front. I agree with Jazz, better to go higher elevations but like wish2hunt said theynaremstill every where. Kids hate being throttled but I always stay in the lead just to keep an eye out for danger, and not just snakes. Your eyes should constantly be scanning.

Anyone with experience with the meopta line? They just came out with mid range price point line. Wondering about the internals as far as tracking and holding zero.
