No not opposed at all to guided hunts. I get that, especially for out of state guys that can't take the time to scout. All I'm saying is, it's a bought head, not a hunted head. I think we can all agree we would feel that a self guided hunt which yields a trophy probably feels a little bit better personally then if you were on a guided hunt. Im not saying theres anything wrong with a guide at all. The only thing that makes me feel ok with this type of hunt is the huge amount of money that goes back to conversation. But still, the dude bought that animal. Cj.. I'm not upset with the guy because he has huge amounts of money to play with. I'm actually happy for him and Congrats on a huge beautiful animal that few would ever even lay eyes on. I'm just saying he bought it. But.. do you think a guy that built a multimillion dollar company from the ground up actually works harder then me, you or dang near any other hard working dude on this site? Lots of us here pour literal blood sweat and tears into what we do. I know im not the only guy here that has paid with all three of those prices. Just because someone has a big dollar sign next too his name does not necessarily mean that he deserves it any more then than any other hard working man out there. Lots of guys have that money who have even come close to earning it themselves.

Not faulting him, just saying he bought the head. 6t6

If greyghost is right could you still say that? I'm sorry but that dude didn't do any hunting whatsoever. The only part of me that can justify it is the amount of money that can go to conservation. Past that, that guy bought a head.

How much did this guy pay to buy this animals head, just curious?

I just like to imagine there is animal like that out there for me, even if it's a snowballs chance in heck!. That's a magnificent animal and I think we can all agree on that. As far as if I had enough money to do that, I couldn't walk away happy with myself because I didn't hunt, I just bought a head.

It blows my mind that there are actually deer like that out there

Cant wait for deer season
CatfishKev replied to desertbowhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Did you glass him up with my old kaibabs? Does he have a mutated right side? Pic looks deceiving, looks like his eyeguard is forward of the main beam. -
Imo they are overrated, what worked better for me was using a tripod with the head flipped up to make a cradle, dropped my beanie in it to rest the front of the gun and a primos trigger stick on the back of the stock also cradled in a thicker beanie. Rock solid set up and way better then the triclawps imo.

Poor kid just wanted to know about glassing in the rain, now we all have sand in our vaginas

I'm guessing you haven't spent too much time in the desert immediately after a rain, and no, downtown Tucson and Phoenix ain't where I'm talking about. Maybe its prdtrs fault for missing a single comma after the word AZ, but dang thats not the way to introduce yourself.

I don't know because I'm Podunk white trash, and you guys I'm sure are better informed then most (no im not being a smartass, im saying that cuz you have both had tags). But for everyone else who may not know... What I took away from the bison clinic was Bison are very much pulled to the place they grew up or were born. The reason the cow mentioned above made a b line to the park was because of that strong natural pull. I got the impression they need younger animals born and or raised there I guess to also birth there, which would in turn keep them on public land and not b line to the park. I'm not a biologist so I have no clue. Just passing on what seemed to be the point. The same point seems to be the reason the park will round them up to sell but not relocate to house rock (because they will just come back). Of course there's gotta be some politics mixed in with all that so dont shoot the messenger! All that being said, I hope game and fish won't spend all this time trying to establish a herd that will just learn hunting pressure and movements and find their way to the park as their safe space. Honestly I can't wrap my mind around the desire for the park to remove them, seems to me they are a natural tourist attraction, why get rid of them? I can't help but wonder if it's about $, but what do I know? #Podunk

Get yourself one of those packable umbrellas to throw in your pack. Also is good to keep you out of the sun as well as keep the front of your glass out of the sun when it starts going doing down a little. Helps you from getting a washed out image.

My reading journey as a very new hunter

Also didn't grow up in an outdoor family, but since I was a kid i had a fascination with wanting to kill something and eat it. Went on a wim and got a bow during archery season back when you could still get a doe. I was instantly hooked! -
Thinking about taking the wife up this weekend. Never been there before. Anyone having any info on current conditions right now? Is it full and are the fish biting?
-
Wow, and I thought discount was the best option. Of course I am in SV though.

Very cool, thanks!

I've never seen one of those neoprene eye covers. I always kept a towel or partial t shirtmscrap in my pack. Where you get it and how much did it cost?
