Those are some amazing bucks, especially for the early hunt.

Camp is far for the east side tagholders. They often leave early and stay out all day and just pack sandwiches for lunch instead of heading back to camp. They killed a bunch of bucks this year. I'm sure some were on the east side.

Still a great buck though congrats! Looks like hes got some good mass. Not always fun resorting to plan d but at least you got it done.

Man I just saw pics of the deer killed in Duwanes Camp. They were killing late hunt quality deer on the early hunt this year. Some really amazing bucks! Makes me think a good pre rut and hopefully it will be in full swing on the opener. Could be a really awesome time!

Wow awesome man congrats. I thought you were in southern units until I saw the elk shed! Turns out you were in a southern unit! I know a couple people that have seen elk right off I 10 around Wilcox. Another buddy saw some right outside of Bowie. They are there just few and far between and hard to find. Congrats on a great hunt.

I'd maybe be interested in a trip someday. What are the limits up there? Any other species open that could make a trip more justifiable?

I know nothing about hunting rabbits except I've heard only hunt with months that have an r in the name. Still not sure if april and September are suspect. What are you supposed to look for. I'm interested in not poisoning my family. Of course there are a few....

Well this is my first attempt at this... Got a backstrap portion and some sirloin steaks. Cold smoked an hour then low smoked on pellet grill one hour. Seasoned with salt pepper and garlic. Sous vide 3 hours at 135. We will see how it turns out. Good or bad I will report. Planning on making some au jus with the bag juice.

Tried again on steaks tonight and it was awesome! Pretty much the same meal we did the other night. Invited mom over to have some.
