Rereading original post. Rifle preferred. If you hired a guide you could probably do very well in units 8, 7w, 10, 5bn, 6a, 21, 22, 1, 27 on late rifle hunts.

I dont mean to throw your mortality in your face but if you are willing to hire a guide you can pull this off. You could put in for some mid tier units with a guide and fulfill your dream. You have a good shot at many good units.

And that the whistleblower that turned him in claimed that Blake told him he poached the powerlines buck. Then he claims the whistleblower got in trouble for lying about residency to aquire lifetime licenses illegally. Testified against Blake and got off Scott free. He then states he agreed to plead guilty to taking the powerlines buck illegally and possession of and or taking of some other random deer and a bear, which he makes no effort to elaborate on

With stockers we always kill it with the pautzke pink shrimp eggs when lots of others are catching little to nothing with powerboat and or worms. We use the small prettied treble hooks with a piece of splitshot to hold up the egg sinker to create a longer leader.

$60 bucks for a youth elk tag is a no brainer. I got 5 kids, been filling the freezer with cow tags the last few years. 4th kid turns 10 this year! That has definately made it easier to build points.

Well assuming you want a bull and not a cow hunt I'd probably go for a late archery tag. 3 is better then none. If you don't have your hunters ed get it for another point and then after 5 years of applying you gain a loyalty point. Adds up before ya know it. I've got 6 points, after this year I'll gain a point and also earn my loyalty point and should have 8 next year. I just can't decide on a unit.

Got ya. Based on first post I assumed you were out of state. Assuming you are now an az res with an az license you are at least not capped at 10% of the tags. You live in the valley?
