Dude that sucks and I feel your pain. Brave of you to post about it but imo that's the right thing to do. I've wounded more then I care to share but I love archery and suffer the buck fever. I sure is heck ain't gonna stop either. Not implying you had the fever since you said he moved. shoot happens, hope you find him dead or can finish him off.

They are in az, I've researched it extensively. Also in new mexico and since they are invasive no permit or license required!

Way to go man that's awesome. Looks like the rage did the job. How far did he go from where you shot him. Btw, be careful with those havelon knives. I recomend getting a pair of cut resistant gloves off amazon to keep in your kill kit.

After having meopta 15s and viper 15s even the vipers are good enough for backpacking. You can get them used for around $400 and they are light. No not as good as meopta or Swaro bit you could buy a pair then sell them. It's worth mentioning you could do an archery trip otc and scout and hunt for a potential rifle tag later.

Once a buck is located and you decide to make a stalk, lots of guys actually remove their boots and go double socks. I took a pair of beach shoes and glued carpet to the bottom and keep them in my pack for when needed. There is also a product I think called cat's paws that strach to your boots. As far as basic walking just depends on the terrain and boots as others have stated.
