Nah, had a sweet 95 gallon corner tank. Caught on fire awhile back and a crack started and went down the side. Decided just to unload everything. Maybe after we move

Referring to tomorrows hunt. I might be available for your hunt. I got my buddy same tag but his mom just went into hospice so he may not hunt.

I might be able to help glass a little if someone needs help. Especially a kid

Been doing a lot of evening glassing. Bringing my youngster with me. Been taking the pellet gun and some little targets with me anf making him shoot while I glass. Just getting him used to finding the targets. Just a small thing you can do and cheaper then riring rounds, especially right now.

Im just impressed he endured all the tough moments and put in grown up effort. Speaks volumes of his character and upbringing. Lots of grown butt men would have thrown in the towel before the last day. Hats off to the lad. -
Bipod Height for Southern Units
CatfishKev replied to broadhead's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I just dont see a need for them, just added weight and uncomfortable to carry with a sling. Set the front on a tripod, easily done without a triclawps or claw. Use the trigget stick ad a walking stick and use that to support the back end. Rock solid. To each their own though. Now i wouldnt mind long sticks where i can sit upright on a predator rifle but i thinks thats the only application where i would want one. -
If you continue using the g5 watch a couple videos on how people sharpen them and make sure they are razor sharp.

Yes it is. Its a thunder beast 30 cal. It connects to a thunderbeast brake so i can install the brakes on multuple rifles and swap the can from gun to gun. Yes i love it, reduces recoil, there fore helps the kids from flinching, can shoot without ear protection etc. The young boy Enoch in the thread has a coues tag in a couple weeks, hes a small framed little guy and hates loud noises. This will make a huge difference for him.

Thanks Stanley, i think this was my favorite youth hunt yet.

Surprised nobody brought this guy up yet.... Also for anyone interested. We were using 140 grain Hornady Eldm. Performed great on the cow and did serious work on the muley. Entrance under hide, Exit under hide. I was amazed he took off like he did. You can see the ring of hydrostatic shock, pretty impressive.

Momma sounds like a keeper bro! I have a guy coming down from the valley just to try and help give some pointers and get him in areas i know that hold deer. You are most welcome to join. I live in sierra vista. As already mentioned its all about the tripod, very few people are good enough to not use one, his name is Fred... I recomend new guys hunt southern units, far more deer then the northern units. Once you know you can pick up deer in areas where deer are, it will give you a bit of confidence in new areas. Im unfamiliar with your unit but down here dang near every hill has a deer on it. Just getting behind the glass and spotting some deer will be a moral boost for you. Also we got enough roads to drive and look at deer, even that is great practice for glassing. You learn to look through holes and "learn" shapes. The graceful arc of a deers back or back end. Silohette of a head etc. It helps a bunch. Feel free to come down man. -

Just finished cleaning up the wiring from the new turn signals, lights etc. Also put the bilini cover and pad bars back on. This is a fun little buggy!
