no they don't all have loud ticks but in the last 6 months we have done 8 tahoes with active lifters that have failed. Also GM has a new tsb on the active lifters failure

Active lifter is like the displacement on demand thru did it for fuel economy it shuts off lifters so it runs on only 4 cylinders at cruise. And I believe most of the gm v8s after 07 have it.

Try to get one without the active lifters they are failing like crazy. The ticking noise on the Chevy motors can be caused by several different things some expensive and some not so expensive to fix. I have 2 shops in tucson and do free pre purchase inspections for anyone buying a car. We are usually really busy but can make time for you to drop in whenever. I own a shop as well and would recommend staying away from jasper as well. Had lots of problems with a unit I put in for a customer and ended up paying a local builder to fix it right since jasper wouldn't stand behind the product. When we took the motor apart not all the cylinders where bored to the same size I couldn't believe it. That was the last time we ever used jasper.

I had the viper 15x50s they are nice glass but way to narrow. There a lots of "budget" options that are decent glass. look at Nikon, the vultures or minox even.

So I have had a pair of 12x56s forever that I have been using for back up or loaner pair. Well a friend dropped them and damaged the heck out of them so I decided to and them in. I bought them used and didn't have nor fill out any warranty card or anything. Heard back from Nikon no questions just fixed under warranty. Awesome customer service.
