Thus, the title, "It was nice for a while"

I agree. I am sure they are doing the best they can. Thats the problem.
-
I figured I was putting too much thought into it. They are just being the same ol' same ol'. I should have known they couldn't put that much thought into anything.
-
If you are really serious about pursuing the problem, then file a claim in small claims court, for loss of revenue. The price of gas alone would be enough. You probably won't win but they would have to take the time to address the law suit.

With retards running things I will be amazed if they are out at all before the 20th. Dee Dee Dee!

Hey Jim I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. I sold a pistol and just wanted to invest in another gun. I have a safe full of rifles but I wanted something I didn't have so I decided to invest in a Tika T3 Light. I sat there at the Cabelas gun counter for over an hour trying to decide on the 300 Win Mag or the Short Mag. I actually went there with the Short Mag in mind but after carefull consideration decided on the Win Mag. Mainly on the reloading choices. I haven't been disapointed, but I don't think there is much difference in the two. If you would like to shoot mine and check it out, let me know. Iv'e shot two deer with it, and both were over 500 yds. The only trouble with the Tika is that it is very light, so the recoil is pretty substantial. I think it has more of a sharp kick than my 300 Ultra Mag. But it is twice as light so I really like hunting with it. Dave.

good luck with all of that. I have had more trouble finding accurate maps for New Mexico. You sure cant trust the Forest Service maps, and trying to deal with some counties is just plain impossible.

Berger VLD vs Barnes TTSX
hawkeye replied to azcoueshuntr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've used both, and now only use Barnes ttsx. In the past years I have had trouble putting down a few animals with the Bergers. Too rapid expansion. On several accounts the front shoulder was reduced to mush and in one instance it took me 4 more days to find him limping around on a useless front leg. I wouldn't have changed on that account alone, but there have been other instances with me and my boys. I'll admit that some of the problem was the speed of my bullet from my 300 ultramag, but I have had no such problems with the barnes. Dave. -
I think I'll pass. I love hunting the rez but after the last two years of standing in line for hours and freezing to death and not getting a tag I will spend my money elswhere. And then finding out they were selling tags at shows later, after I was told there were no more tags. Good luck though to all who have nothing better to do.

Discounted mule deer and coues deer hunt - Mexico
hawkeye replied to tylerwcs's topic in Classified Ads
If they shoot 3 to 5 bucks a year why is there 6 openings? -
I would like to buy a new set of motorola talkabout radios, but the last ones I bought I couldn't dissable the call alert or roger beep. That is the most anoying sound in the world when you are trying to use a radio. Any info on some radios that can be quieted would be apreciated. Thanks David

I went through the same thing 2 years ago. The reason I went with the Win Mag. intead of the Short Mag. is that there were more reloading options with the Win. Mag. Other than that there was very little difference. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Two nice bucks but not the ones we were watching
hawkeye posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Opening morning found Kris and I with flashlights heading up and over the mountain that we had been scouting a couple of toads. As the sun peeked over the horizon we were making our way down a very steep cliff and through a sadle, Just one more small brushy point to make it to, and we would be looking down on the area we had been seeing them in for weeks. Just before we topped out a loud crashing to our right sent a sinking feeling through our hearts. We topped out and found that a doe and fawn we had busted, had circled and was running through the saddle right where the two bucks were. Yep four white flags were running up the opposite side at about 450 yds. After the all day trek my legs were like rubber that night. The next day found more of the same in a different area. This time it was a very large buck and a smaller nice buck. Well they busted before we got to them and the only shot I had, was of the smaller buck. My legs were gone, and it was a very long way back to the truck. My very good freind, Jason made his way to me and hauled the buck over his shoulder and back to the truck like a bull dozer. I owe a big thanks to him. It would have taken me forever to get off that mountain with that buck. Yesterday Kris and I went out after Kris got off work. We went to one of our favorite places and after about 5 minutes of glassing he found a bedded buck at 495 yards. He laid down on his 7mm Ultramag and dropped him. This was the last day we could hunt, so we were happy as heck. After killing ourselves for several days it sure was nice to have things come together on the last night. Instead of miles, we got the truck to within about six hundred yards of him. They arent giants but they aint babies either My buck shot last Saturday Kris's last day buck -

Thanks, it's getting harder every year. It seems more and more people are hunting coues, and my legs aren't getting any younger. -
While out scouting for my coues hunt , I glassed up a very large bear. I checked and the unit hasn't closed yet so I bought a tag last night. I'm not an avid bear hunter, but this thing was one of the biggest bears I've seen. He was in the pears and I think he knew I was there and just walked off. What do you think the chances are of him being in the same area the next few days? I plan on taking my Foxpro out tomarrow and trying to call him in.

I have found that there are a lot of products having the same problem. Everything is being built in China, and I haven't found anything yet that was made in China to be of good quality. A lot of products that I used to love are being manufactured in China lately, and are of poor quality. If it is made in China I will usually do without it.

Are their any radios without call alert or roger beep
hawkeye replied to hawkeye's topic in Other Hunting Gear
With most motorola radios....if you hold down the minus sine as you turn it on it should silent it... I tried that with my last pair and it wouldn't work. The darned things are blister packed so it is hard to check them. -
Great looking pups. I sure miss my labs. Wish I had the cash and time.

The optics are crisp and clear at long range. I have shot a few coues over 500 yds. with no problem. I haven't had any issues with the reticle or anything else. I have an older one and a newer one and I love both. I understand your reservations. I got my first one by accident on an order. I loved it so much I kept it, and when I bought a new gun I didn't hesitate to order another one. My son has the front focal mark4 leupold he paid fifteen huntred dollars for. I like this scope just as well.
-
I have some great scopes and I have a weaver tactical on my sendaro 300 ultra-mag and one on my 300 win. mag. I like them as much as the more expensive mark 4 from leupold. They are front focal plane and I won't shoot anything else on my long range rifles. The optics can't be beat. I like them more than any of my leupold scopes.

I have a mini 14 ranch rifle for sale. Comes with, Bushnel mil-dot 3x9 scope, Hogue overmold stock, two 20 round mags. and a 5 round mag., several hundred rounds of amo, and the original wood stock. I bought this a few years ago, and it has been sitting in the gun safe since. I shot around a hundred rounds through it right after I bought it. I want to buy a new spotting scope, so I thought I would offset the cost by selling this rifle I am not using. I have over a thousand dollars in all of this, and will sell for $675 PM me or call at 928-402-9492. "SOLD"

Will also consider .300 WM. I have a 30.06 Ruger M77 Mark II stainless with Ruger factory synthetic stock, and also a Ruger factory wood stock. A Leupold VXII 4-12 Mil-Dot scope and 6 boxes of ammo. The trigger has been worked and shoots smooth. $700. Let me know if interested and I will send pics.

I am moving soon to New Mexico from Arizona. I was wondering if I keep my bonus points when applying for non-resident tag in Arizona.
-
Thanks guys. I think I will buy a lifetime license and then I don't have to worry about it. It looks like I would have to apply for non-resident big game tags but wouldn't have to buy a non-resident license. Thanks again for the info.
