True. However you're beating a dead horse. Commissioner Davis took that option off the table at the end of the meeting on Friday. The individual at the beginning also made it clear too that after all the work to get the pricing down, he doesn't want any increase.
-
At least nobody will waste time on that angle only to have it shot down later. Focus on what IS on the table.
-
Sounds like Pete got what he wanted. If the license fee increase is off the table as Commissioner Davis stated, there are limited ways to raise the money.
-
Pretty cynical thing to say. Give them some credit. You get what you want and then question why they do it?
-
5-0 against the ban.. No ban at all except for the live action cams.

Some people crash them too.. Ask that one guy that kills lots of monsters..

2:47 Trail camera issue begins if you are searching archives. Item #28

It sounds like they are just making their cases for the existing 3 tags/species tags.
-
So, pete gets his tags? Not yet but another door opened.

Fake news.. It never rains in AZ...

Where are you located?

IF there was a 3rd deer involved, and IF there were Federal agents involved as someone mentioned previously, then the Rez is probably a part of this Scooby mystery and could explain only 2 deer with State charges. Did Lance Armstrong get charged for all his ill gotten gains? I don't remember and couldn't care less so I'm not going to look it up. I'm out of popcorn so I'm done..
-
Just food for thought... Someone can absolutely be summoned for felony charges without a physical arrest. Additional indictments can come later bringing additional charges and even superseding indictments after that. Federal charges, if warranted or applicable, can be brought in addition to or in lieu of State charges and could be way down the road. IF the Feds get involved, look out because they have all the time and money in the world. And their most powerful tool is one simple little word. Conspiracy. In general, you can't read too much into anything that has been provided so far. But hey, it's something to pass the time till August gets here..

Wow, only took 25 pages before a single document was produced but nice to see there is at least something behind all this gossip.

Just a few thoughts on this: Know that late June is still not quite into the prime bite. If you can move the trip back a few months, you are more likely to hit a wide open bite. But it's fishing and one good kelp patty can produce a limit for the boat. For gear, bring what you have and maybe rent a rod too. They usually supply hooks but just buy some at the pier before you go. I would absolutely recommend you get some fluorocarbon for leaders. 25-50lb just to be safe. If the fish are being really picky, you need every advantage. An iron bait is not a bad thing to have standing by. If you have one ready to go, toss it out on the slide if a trolling rod gets bit. Then switch to live bait. (Or stay with the iron) Two years ago, I caught the only tuna on the boat with iron. When your boat is loading up on live bait, drop that swimbait and fish the bottom and you have a very good chance of landing a quick halibut. They don't want you bringing any food or drink or board. Having said that, they do not check your bags. I have always found the food they serve on the trips to be very good to excellent. Tipping is what it is. Whatever you feel comfortable with but 50 seems to be more average and far above minimum. They will ask you if you want them to fillet the fish for you. If yes, it's an extra fee. For me, in AZ, the last thing I want to do when it's 115 is deal with a lot of stinky fish bodies. Prices will depend on size but I think 5.00/fish will get you done. Cooler capacity depends on if you are bring back fillets or whole fish. If you bring any high end coolers, lock them down or even better, put them inside your vehicle. If you get seasick or aren't sure, try to get a bunk that's on the inside, low and in the back. I think bunk #5 on the Producer is one of those. Get ready to have a blast!
-
Did a 1.5 trip on the Producer two weeks ago. While we only put 8 yellowtail on the deck, the crew was busting butt and they were working hard to find the fish. My buddy had never gone before and couldn't get time off during prime season so we went early knowing we may well get skunked. He landed two and won the big fish jackpot. Needless to say, he's HOOKED! Good luck on your trip.

I'm curious, if it's all volunteers doing the hauling, where does the $1,000,000.00+ cost for hauling water I keep hearing about come from?

The distain for this website and it's "keyboard killers" just drips from those folks on that radio show. If you were a newbie and read the last 10-30 pages of this thread, what opinion do you think they would form about it? I was hoping the links would shed some light on the issue related to this thread because you can actually hear from them directly and not mis-quoted rumors from this guy I know said that he said that she said she heard.... Not defending anyone here or there but I can imagine how I would feel if I spent a lot of time helping/fighting for a cause only to get bashed for it.. -

SRT radio segment from this morning. 4/22/18 You can scroll down to find the two files from today with Don, JK and Jim Unmacht. Both hours have content related to CAPAZ. I can't find a way to post the link directly. It begins about 10:50 into the 1st segment, which is the 2nd file. http://www.1580thefanatic.com/shake-rattle-troll-don-mcdowell/ -

Short answer, yes. I'm still doing my homework on this whole issue. I hadn't heard about this issue until 10 hours prior to the meeting on Tuesday. There are so many conflicting statements and comments that sorting through them has been a bit overwhelming. But, since I've gone down that rabbit hole...... Just a few of the things I am looking into and would like answers to are: (Seems to be one of those deals that the more you dig, the more convoluted it becomes) How real is this threat? To what degree, if any, is fear-mongering playing a role in this latest ordeal? If there is, what is the reason and/or what is the ultimate goal? (Don't everyone scream "TAGS!!" at the same time) Who are the players and what sandbox have they played in before? (Yes, I understand that it's a very small group of individuals that appear on almost every board of every group out there) Where does G&F stand on this? If G&F feels they need 2M/year for education and can generate those funds in some way, do the donations for the political fight mysteriously vaporize? More info on what was provided by P.P. for the 250K? The last thing I want to do is judge or criticize people that are actually helping protect something that all of us on this forum enjoy. I also realize that politics, money and animals rolled into one, can make a pretty fascinating soap opera. -

Now this is how I expected the meeting at Bass Pro to go.. Monday's should be interesting. Hopefully all of this evolves into something productive and not just a 250 page pissing contest. -
THIS EXACTLY!!! I still use and love my Shimano Baitrunner 12000D. It works great but one morning I learned a tough lesson. And that is, when you get spooled and your reel didn't even slow the fish down, you need to have a heavier backup ready and close by.. It SUCKS knowing that there are fantastic fish right below the boat and you can do nothing but watch others try to land them. Since then, I always have a TLD25 rig ready to go.. I only go a time or two per year so can't justify or afford the expensive stuff but the next time those good Bluefin turn up, I'll have a better shot at landing them.
