So Im a fairly inexperienced hunter and I plan on trying my luck in Colorado. Ive not been drawn in my home state (Arizona) for last few years. From my understanding the OTC starts in Augest for Colorado. Can anyone give me advice on where to try? I was thinking unit 74 because I have family close to there. Im open to any advice though Id like to finally get a big game animal.

These are possible units to choose from so I think 36a I'll get the tag tomorrow.

36a. I have hunted coyotes a few times there. Never seen javelina lol.

I am going on my first ever Javelina hunt. I decided to buy a leftover HAM tag today. Wish me luck, never hunted any of these units, haven't scouted, going in blind. Just want to get my first javelina so it won't hurt to try. Pics to come maybe?

Well CC I am a fairly new hunter so I don't really know what I'm doing yet. That doesn't stop me from trying. Yesterday I was out in my area hiking a trail to the area I wanted to sit. About a quarter mile in I look to my left and a huge 4x4 whitetail is about 17 yards away. I stop nock a arrow and think I finally will have a deer. There were about 4 mesquite trees between us and no possible way for arrow to go unimped. I decided to not take the shot. I tried coming around on him, but he took off when I came within 60 yards again. My question is did I make the right choice? Will arrows be able to go through some brush?

Hey CWT, I bought a new HHA sight for myself this Christmas. If you don't know you need to sight in at 20 and 60 yards to select a tape. Well 20 is easy that's done, but I can't get 60. I have been trying to get to the fairgrounds to shoot 60 but it's been WAY to windy to make the proper adjustments. I checked th forecast and for the next week same thing. Any ideas on how to sight in? I have my tag and I'd rather be hunting than waiting for a non windy day.

100grains where are you located? I usually roll solo or with a buddy and I have a few good spots that need hunted. I'm in Tucson.
