Price Drop: Like New Nosler Rifle in 28 Nosler
AZ Wildcat replied to andrewva's topic in Classified Ads
Is this still available? I'm in Chandler and might like to come look at it if it is. -
I would never discourage someone from buying a new rifle, and a bigger caliber wouldn’t hurt. But .243s have killed a lot of deer and a fair number of elk at closer ranges. I wouldn’t hesitate to use it for that hunt if you shoot it well.

If I’m following this correctly all of the beef is accounted for, but I’d be interested in a 1/4 or 1/8 if available.
-
Haven’t seen them but I’ve heard them a few times in there.

I have for sale a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44 FFP Scope with the illuminated EBR-2C MOA reticle. Scope has been in the field but is in very good condition, with some light marking/scratching on the eyepiece (the frame, not the glass) and the battery cover. Optics are in perfect condition. Included are the scope, lens covers, Vortex flip-up objective cover (pictured) and eyepiece cover (not pictured), Warne rings, sun shade and original box and documentation. Also included is a Vortex neoprene scope cover (not pictured). $700. Please call or text Jim at (602) 999-5073 if interested. I live in Chandler and can meet you somewhere within reason if you'd like. Thanks!

Selling a Winchester M70 Classic Stainless in 270 WSM. Made in New Haven with the Controlled Round Feed. This rifle has been in the field a fair amount and I know of at least two elk that it has taken (unfortunately not by me). The stock shows signs of use with some scratching/marking. Barrel and action are in good shape though and the rifle shoots quite well. I only shoot factory ammo and have found this to be an MOA or better rifle with the following (velocities measured with my MagnetoSpeed): * Federal 140gr Trophy Bonded Tip - avg 3,308 fps (my preferred round, shoots ~ 3/4 MOA) * Federal 130gr Nosler Accubond - avg 3,357 fps * Hornady 145gr ELD-X - avg 3,026 fps I also have a green Hogue OverMolded stock and a factory laminate stock, both of which fit this rifle (the Hogue requires the use of a 2-piece floorplate adapter which I will include). If you purchase the rifle I'll include one of these stocks if you'd like. Warne bases and your choice of 1" or 30mm Warne rings are also included. $600. Please call or text Jim at (602) 999-5073 if you are interested. I'm in Chandler and can meet somewhere in the middle if convenient.

Edited to add a Vortex Defender eyepiece cover and a Vortex neoprene cover which I just realized I had. They are not in the pictures but are included in the sale.

AZ Wildcat replied to bonecollector777's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Those of us who had cameras stolen up there can't, no. -
Just remembered I have some 1" and 30mm Warne rings lying around that I'm not using so I've added those to the sale (buyer's choice) as well.

I heard getting through Globe was quite the challenge yesterday.

That reminds me a bit of the KME (https://www.kmesharp.com) which I have. I've found it much more effective than just using a regular stone (I'm just an amateur after all) but still a little time-consuming. More recently I've been using a Horl (https://www.horl-1993.com/de_en) and I've found it effective and very easy to use.

Very cool truck...love those 7.3s. Wish I needed one!

AZGFD Commission Meeting June 12th
AZ Wildcat replied to rossislider's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
So much for "turning his life around"... -
RzRs are a blast, but I'd never buy one if its primary purpose would be for hunting. Can't go wrong with the Rangers. I went through this about a year ago and ended up with a Teryx though, and I really love it.
