By the time you add gas and wear and tear to your vehicle, and marriage(due to less time spent together) sounds like a expensive commute.

Get lots of alarm stickers one on every window and fake cameras in plain view on Eve's and overhangs same reason I carry everywhere is a cop is too heavy. Most of the burglars will be detoured by alarm evidence even if it isn't there and put a firearm on the hip and a noisy dog in the back yard anyone who will F with that is a idiot.

I have the same idea. I load weapons in garage with closed door and make sure to keep my gear tucked away as best as possible. When the family leaves to go camping we hire a house sitter to take care of my noisy dogs and god help them if the every try to screw with her she is a black belt in karate that brings over her shotgun for protection.

I use h-1000 and eld match hornady bullets and reload cost for lapua is around $1.10 if you already have brass. if not add cost of brass I have some brass that have been loaded 7 time and still is good but probably nearing it end of life.

glad you were successful.

i agree a 1911 puts out a good message but lacking on round count try a 2011 and double your fun.

Picking up Shotgun Shells

I pick up mine and all the others around me -
i have multiple pants, shirts, and outer wear I,m 6'0" and 210 xl fits me well. I have warm weather and cold weather pants and other gear and it is very nice to wear. Seems very druable as well. I traded my old bass pro cold weather layer coat and outer for this stuff and lost 3 pound just on the outer wear guide dcs jacket and super down insulation layer, as for the pants and shirts lost near the same form my old denim pants and shirts.

One of the things I used to struggle with was making sure the reticle was aligned vertically correct. I found that if I leveled the rifle and then the scope to level my natural point of aim was to cant the rifle so now I hang a string 25 yards or more down range in a building and check my verticle reticle to this string when i,m hold the rifle for me. Then I put a bubble level on the scope tube to my verticle so that I can hold the rifle correctly each and every time. It is another way to verify I,m doing my job when shooting.

I use whatever I can find, like lay on rock with back pack for support, tree branch or trunk if available, I use a atlas bipod and it is great but a little short for tall grass my frame pack does fairly well to get a little height. I have got into a habit if i sit to glass trying to determine what i will shoot off of when i sit so i,m prepared. also have used bogpod sticks and other thing friends had. It seems every situation has a different solution. I,m not sold that a large bipod is the way to go for me but maybe the way for you. I like the quick detach of some so i,m not trying to remove it for a givin situation

REI has great trekking poles carbon fiber really reduces the weight but their not too heavy in the first place. I have become a weight weenie and looking to reduce ounces to save pounds but the I grab a magnum rifle and scope that is 13.5 lbs. The thing I could not live without is my glassing chair pick but I spend weeks on end in it and it is fantastic.
