I've had very good luck with Danner Light Hikers (Leather Uppper) and Danner light hiker IIs. (canvas upper) They have lasted many years and offer great support. The thing with Danner boots is you need to stay away from them molded sole boots that are made overseas. Go with the non-molded sole ones made in the USA and you will have good results.

unit 1 now available http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/48137-flatline-maps/ james That says unit 27 now available and when I checked the website still doesn't show unit 1...is available and just not showing?

Flatline Map 100%. I used the HuntMap for unit 1 last year because unit 1 wasn't available at Flatline (still don't think it is) it was useful but no where near as good at the Flatline map we used in unit 10 the year before. Flatline is much clearer, more detail and shows contours much better.

no, but as you said it does take someone that pays attention and while Foxnews will highlight the failures of Obamacare, they seems to forget the previous model was unsustainable.... but i guess doesn't matter....most Americans are so reactionary without knowing the facts. The previous model and the current model are unsustainable for the exact same reasons: 1.) Healthcare is not insurance and insurance is not healthcare. Until the individual is held financially responsible for their own choices and the impact those choices have on the cost of their medical care people will continue to make bad choices about how they eat, how much they (don't) exercise, how much they drink, whether they smoke and the other unhealthy choices they make every day will only continue to drive up the cost of insurance for everyone else. The amount of money this country spends every year attempting to fix health issues that are 100% preventable and/or reversible simply by making better choices is astronomical. It's insane that you take two people of the same age in the same environment one makes good choice the other makes bad choices but we are forced to pay the exact same amount for coverage. Its the Liberal way and it's total BS. 2.) Tort reform. It's totally lacking from both models. All one needs to do is watch an hour of TV to see there's a huge problem. You can't get through an hour show without seeing lawyer ads for "if you have ever taken XYZ drug you could be entitled to compensation" or "if you have XYZ joint replacement you may be entitled to compensation". Mistakes do happen and when they do there should be compensation but when all the science and evidence shows an issue was simply a bad outcome there shouldn't be but because these issues are argued in front of a jury insurance companies settle for fear of astronomical and entirely unjustified settlement amounts driving up the cost of health insurance. 3.) End of Life Choices. Don't get this confused with "death panels" that's not what I'm referring to. There's really two components to this. The first being not too long ago people wanted to die at home not in a hospital. If you die at home there really isn't any costs associated with it. If you die in a hospital the costs are staggering largely due to fear of #2 above. Secondly, over 30% of medicare medical costs are incurred in the last 12 months of life - Over half of that is spent during the last two months of life. This clearly isn't an easy one to tackle but clearly there's a problem with how we as a country approach end of life medical care. How many heroic measures should be taken to save someone who really has no hope of any quality of life. 4.) Anti-depressant Usage. In the last 25 years anti-depressant usage has increased by over 400% in the US. Studies have shown that over half of the individuals using anti-depressants have used them for more than two years and most have not seen a mental health provider during that time. I recognize Depression is a brutal to deal with but there is really no explanation for an over 400% increase in 25 years. If these 4 things could be addressed I would wager we would see a insurance costs drop by well over 30% giving us a system that is sustainable. Unfortunately, too few want to be accountable for their own choices and too many lawyer in government to allow tort reform. And most importantly no one in government is really willing to have an HONEST dialog about how to really fix it.

Looks like low water at the lower flats...been a long time since I've fished there.

The key to Craigslist is to screen the crap out of them before you allow them to setup a meet. If they won't put up with the screening good chance they will be one of the no show types.

Kyle sure builds a nice looking and shooting rifles.

Phil - Wicked looking Rifle - the spiral fluting makes it look fast just sitting there . I think the only thing that would make it look better is if it was displayed on a Zebra rug...you better get over to Africa and get yourself one. Looking forward to seeing how it shoot.

If you are taking your boat and not a guides take an extra propeller (unless you have a jet on your motor) and tools to change it out. There are sections that are deceiving and can claim a prop pretty quick if not careful. Also pay close attention to the water level changes throughout the day. You don't want to get caught wading an island when the waters going up you may find it difficult to get back to your boat.

Should have trashed it...If you look up the ticket on line that's also as good as being served as you have to enter the citation number with personal info which proves you got it.

Yes the per unit cost in those states are much lower but how many more units do they have to sell? I would bet that when you combine all the tags/license fees of those states the revenues will far exceed the revenues of AZ G&F.

Girls (Women) were always part of the hunting and fishing tradition in our family. Here's a great old photo of my grandma with a really nice mule deer.

My 3 year old loves this video. He was on my lap when I first watched it and now that's all he wants to watch. We watched at least a hundred times over the weekend. It's funny to watch his reaction when the bull screams I hope he's hooked. -
Anything we can do to stop the money hungry machine that is AZGFD?
scoutm replied to bonecollector777's topic in The Campfire
I watched a show on PBS last night on the wolf reintroductions in different areas around the US. When they spoke to the AZ efforts they sited that over 70% of AZ citizens were in favor of continuing the efforts...if that stat was factual I'm not sure I would want to "take the chance" on who get's voted in. Scary to think what we would end up with. Seriously? I highly doubt that 70% of people here want them. I know there are a lot of crazies here but not that many. But that number of 70% sure makes people that aren't educated about wolves think wolves are a good thing. PBS is liberal like most tv so it doesn't surprise me. Liberal as it is I would say that they went about 60/40 slant wise. They spent a good amount of time interviewing ranchers and discussing livestock losses. One of the ranchers found it amazing that when explaining a pack went on a killing spree during lambing season and killed well over a hundred ewes and lambs peoples responses was cost of doing business. When he changed his tack to the same wolves killed 18 guard dogs in 14 months people started to listen to what he had to say. I think there's a lesson in there about thinking about how you present your argument. -
