Anyone else get hit? Money was taken at 4:57 PM today. I have a hard time believing they could have done the draw this soon after extending the date but my CC was hit none the less.
-
Go early...the last gun show I went to the 223, 9mm and 40S&W was sold out before noon. I was in line to get in and people where taking hand-trucks loaded with ammo back at to there cars. I was in line 10 minutes after the doors open.

New Mexico G& F Hit my CC Today
scoutm replied to scoutm's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
Thanks...Is this something new? I don't ever recall them doing this in the past? If they did I completely missed it or maybe the fact that prior years I used my CC I didn't ever see the money gone. Lesson learned don't give them your debit card and be out the money. -
New Mexico G& F Hit my CC Today
scoutm replied to scoutm's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
I have no ideas if I actually drew a tag or not. What I know is that NM G&F took $270.00 from my account yesterday - I had to use my debit card as my CC expire the month of the draw and I hadn't received my new one so I didn't want to risk my payment being rejected. I logged into my account on the NM G&F site to check there and it shows all the draws as pending. If you look at the detail of each hunt application it shows the payment activity for each hunt and the Antelope Hunt shows that both the application fee and tag fee have been paid for. Where the other hunts only show the application fee paid. That said I do in fact have a NM antelope tag in hand but it's not for the North American variety. I have my Oryx tag safe and sound in my gun safe at home. -
We also saw a big lion cross the road at night on our way home from a NM Deer Scouting trip. Sundevil wanted to call someone with dogs as we knew where a fresh trail was but needed to be remined that the new lion season had been shortened and that lion couldn't be hunted.
-
Sundevil and I were out scouting deer spring of last year and he glassed up two lions. Since he didn't have his rifle or lion tag with him I got the honors even though he glassed them up. Just a few days ago I recieved the aging report back from G&F. She was aged right at one year old. Younger than thought but still an honor.

Nice work! They look Great! -
Just a quick report...I joined the clean up effort this morning for 4 hours. This was the second of two weekends the clean up efforts were put on. Unfortunately, I assume, due to the holiday weekend and poor weather the volunteers failed to show up this weekend. Other than myself there was only one other volunteer who showed up. Game and Fish and Forest Service folks were out in force. I know a lot of times they get a bad rap in the hunting forums, including this one, but let me just say they worked their butts off on this project and have done an oustanding job cleaning up the mess left by irresponsible shooters. My hat is off to them.

Unfortunately the captured jaguar had to be euthanized. Here a link. I hope it works. http://www.azstarnet.com/dailystar/282559

Here's a twist on this issue...I got my results over the phone Sunday Night - I didn't draw skunked all around. Just for kicks I check online and I shows I drew my first choice antelope hunt. I don't know what to think. Should I just wait to see if I get a tag or a refund back. I really want call G&F but I'm sure they are just going to tell me the phone is right and online is wrong. The uncertainty is killing me. What should I do?

After about a 1000 redials I finally got through only to hear those all to familiar words "You were not drawn for...." Good thing I was fortunate enought to draw an Oryx Tag and there's still Utah to find out about.
-
This process is messed up. Had they put the results on-line first we would all know what are results were, GF would be able to conduct business as they would have phone lines to use and AZ businesses wouldn't be losing thousands of hours of lost production. Who ever is in charge of the application and results process should be run out of the state! There went my tag.

ANYONE GOING ORYX HUNTING???
scoutm replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
I drew the Nov 14-15 Stallion Range hunt. I've been on the range once before and had a great time. I've started pulling info from previous threads to start the prep work. -
That was one of the more memorable parts of your hunt. Which by the way, I don't recall you ever posting a story about - did I miss it?
-
Results have been posted for the NM Oryx Draw. I was fortunate enought to draw the November Hunt on the Stallion Range.

I believe the January Old Mexico budget just got spent!
-
Thanks. I extremely excited!! It should be a great hunt. No need for turrets on the 300 WBY as the 300WSM will be the rifle of choice for this hunt.

Sportsmanswarehouse going out of business?
scoutm replied to hawkeye's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I sure hope sportmans doesn't go out of business. If they did we in Tucson wouldn't have any options. It looks like the sale of Sportmans is still progressing but at a not surprising slow pace. Once done I would expect many of the issues to be resolved. http://www.ufa.net/inTheNews/archive/sport...ehouse_adv.html http://www.newwest.net/city/article/ufas_ceo_explains_acquisition_of_sportsmans_warehouse/C94/L94/
